Back in a black '14 Trail!!

Hi All! I picked up a 2014 Trail in Black on Friday and wanted to post some pictures. Last year, I had the crazy idea to trade in my '12 Trail for a two-seat convertible and it was the one of the biggest mistakes I've made in a while. I've missed it most days and now very happy to be back in the saddle of a 4R, and got a great deal!

I actually went to go buy a Nautical Blue Trail up at Hendrick Toyota in Merriam, KS but it had been dealer traded for an SR5 earlier that day. They couldn't get it back but found me my first choice of Black with the premium entune package and I couldn't be happier! I am loving the upgrades inside over my '12 Trail, the black trim, red stitching, projector headlamps, and new features on the entune system are all just fantastic.

I love all the knowledge on this forum and can't wait to start modding! Here are some pictures for now.. my license plate now makes sense again as well:biggrin2:

Nice ride, Taylour! I thought that dealership looked familiar. I'm in Wichita, too! :thumb:

Just test drove a 4Runner SR5 Premium there a few days ago.

I was replying to [MENTION=9596]paddlenbike[/MENTION].

He asked why the picture of the vehicle on the dash only showed 2 wheels.

It's because the Trail Edition is front wheel drive. You can change it to 4x4. When it's in 2H it only shows the 2 front wheels on the display. When it's in 4L or 4H it shows all 4 wheels on the display.

I am confused now.....
Front wheel drive?......What?.....
I don't have the Trail, but when you put it in 4WD or 4LO, the display still only shows the front 2 wheels. And I am quite positive the 4Runners are NOT front wheel drive......
Is the display different for the SR5?
Now for the experts to chime in.....GO!

No, no - that graphic just simply shows which direction your tires are turned. It is pretty silly honestly. There is a green icon which lights up on the dash when you shift into 4HI or 4LO. And yes, its rear wheel drive when not in 4WD.
 
I didn't even notice the little graphic just showed the front wheels but yes it is RWD when in two-wheel... I've been using the digital speed readout lately and I must say that is a nice feature!
 
Ugh I'm all over the place, sorry. I stand corrected. I haven't drive my 4Runner in a few months. I'll remove those posts so it doesn't confuse anyone else.
