Hey guys, picking up a new Blizzard Pearl with Redwood interior limited tomorrow. Going to be my wife's Daily Driver. Just was curious about the stock tires on the limited... how are they, and should I trade out of them before driving off lot? Good, Bad, and Ugly on the limited stock tires?
What has been a great tire on the limited that A.) Is Great in Snow/Water
B.) Looks Nice C.) Handles roads nicely, and is somewhat quiet D.) Still has some A/T characteristics?

The stock Limited tires aren't bad. I've driven through 2 TERRIBLE rain storms this summer and with 5,000 miles on the ticker, I didn't have a single issue, the car was planted.

They aren't the smoothest on the highway I've noticed, but I attribute that to the 20" diameter.

Being the odd width of the Limited 20" wheel, your tire options are very limited unless you're willing to go aftermarket wheel options. However, subscribed to listen to other people's input.

The problem is that there are maybe a dozen total tires in the stock size, which is 245-60R-20. Exactly none of them meet your "some A/T characteristics" requirement. You have to change to a 275-55R-20 (~1" wider, slightly taller) to get a decent selection, but then the problem is that tire size requires a minimum 7.5" wheel and the OEM wheels are only 7". Most big-box shops won't install them for liability reasons, but some local shops will.

To get a decent rubber selection you pretty much have to swap your wheels. Either wider 20" or drop down to 18" or 17" (and still wider). Or like Engineer mentioned in your other thread, get good all-season or summer tires in the stock size, with a second set of wider wheels wrapped in good MT or winter tires.

All that said, if you go to the larger size (275-55R-20) the Cooper Discoverer A/TW; BFG KO2; and Falken Wildpeak A/T3W meet your requirements and all are winter-rated. The KO2 is the classic, but the Cooper and Falkens are newer designs with really good reviews. The Cooper and Falken have mileage warranties, while the KO2 does not.

Since it's summer, I can't attest to snow/water. They're quiet, ride nice so they fit your B/C category. They're OE tires (Bridgestone Dueler H/T) so they'll probably only last 30-40k miles so why not just use them until they're done unless you have a specific reason not to?

I installed 17" TRD PRO wheels on my LE from the day one and I am very happy with the looks and the quality of ride on my LTX MS2 265/70R17. I sold the original wheels/tires set on Craig's list very fast.

My new-to-me 2011 Limited came with stock 20" Yokohama Geolandars. Come time for replacement this fall, I will be getting the Michelin Premier LTX 245/60R20 tires. These tires likely meet your first three criteria.

I plan on running these Michelins year round, and we get a good deal of snow and ice conditions my way. Yes, I agree that dedicated winter tires on smaller (17") rims would be ideal, but this is the set-up that I'll run for now.

I ran Michelin LTX M/S2s on my 03 Limited year round for many years with no winter issues.
