The bullet chargers linked in the previous post work OK. Depends on your power needs. Newer cell devices can charge faster with 2nd and 3rd generation high speed wired charging. Bullet chargers are not usually high speed charging. Bullet chargers do not like having two hungry devices connected for hours. I've had a few different types. For multi hour driving events I learned to only connect one power cord to a dual bullet charger.

I put 2 in each vehicle, and when paired with a decent cable (I use only Anker, unless I know I'm going to break it, lose it) they can charge both of out LG G6 phones just as fast or faster than the LG charger that came with it. They support universal high-speed charging, and can/will power a tablet if the need arises. 1 up front & 1 in the back and everyone can keep there phone glued to their hand and stay out of my hair while I'm driving.

i only use anker too, until they started failing after warranty ended. Now i'm diverse.

yall are right, the after markets plugs would be better and i can keep it up with the power trends. my main reasoning for wanting hard install though is that i'd like to be able to close the cover still, with the adapters all suggested- the cover will be open full time and it'll be matter of days before my kids will rip those off.

I would say just pull the covers off to start with, at least then they're cut clean. And if your kid can reach down that far I'd assume they're old enough to not be in car seats, so if they get shocked by putting they're finger in there they probably deserve it.
If you really wanted to you could get a solid plastic (non-conductive) flat face plug to go in there when the USB isn't.

Good point, they'll probably destroy the cover. The Anker Charger is very durable though, my 200#'s of dogs haven't caused any damage except a small bite mark from playing.

Upcoming road trip, and I'll want my back seats folded down. The Anker looks good, but I'm concerned that there isn't space between the seat bottom and the adapter+USB cable. There's only 1" clearance.
Could anyone using this measure it for me?
Other thoughts?
(No outlets in my glovebox, and my Garmin takes the 12v in the stack).

Ive got an Anker 24W USB and it works great
I've also used my lantern to charge and it charged faster than expected. This thing now goes wherever I go. One of my favorite tools for light and charging in a bind.

I also have a couple of these flush mount 12v to USB but I haven't had them as long as my Anker, so I can't say much about them, other than they work good and the flush mount is nice. That should gain you some clearance.
Or maybe something similar to this, so you can run it up to where you can get more clearance.

Cable clutter drives me nuts, and I've already got the Garmin plugged into the front 12v outlet. So I opted for this:

Just stuck mine back for to check. It will fit the adapter but the USB cable sticks out too far.

Thanks. I've been fooling around with it and determined I can wedge something between the back of the center stack and the seat to push it back far enough. Classy.
I was surprised that on my SR5 Premium, the glovebox ports are blanks.
