Hey so im a new 4runner owner and although i am super excited about it, it does need a few things taken care of. One of witch is that my back window will not role up. I guess that it thinks that the back windshild wiper is down and so it wont go up. if i role it down its stuck until it decieds to work. any idea how easy this is to fix? Or if its not something i can do how much it would cost?

One of the bolts that holds down the removable top has a switch in it that won't allow the window to roll up when the top is off. I think its the one closest to the roll bar, driver side. Try taking out that bolt and putting it back in. That worked for me. Sometimes my window doesn't roll up anyway so i just hit the tailgate really hard with my hand and it jolts it back into working order.

What year? What have you tried so far? A problem well-stated is a problem half-solved.

Will and O.P.,
If what Will describes above is happening, something is wrong. Don't let the window decide when to work or not. Find out exactly why before you have a downpour and you cannot roll your window up, or you have a large item in the trunk and your window refuses to roll down.

Is it the proper length bolt (I painted mine red so I know exactly which bolt goes in there ? Is the top off switch in good working condition? Does the connector make good contact?

Does the problem appear whether you use the console of the tailgate key switch?

If you still suspect the rear wiper retraction switch, disconnect the wire to it (Red with white stripe) OR Pin 13 (green ire with yellow stripe) from the rear window control relay module.

IF you have first-gen More Funner, Rear Window control explained here

See what's not doing what it's supposed to do and let us know...

Then we'll go from there.

Its a 92 automatic. I messed witht he windshild wiper a little cause someone said it may have something to do with that (not sure why) and it actually worked like 2-3 times. then it stopped... and it wont do it again. Im assuming it has nothign to do with the motor since it goes down but i know very little about cars.

I... i know very little about cars.
if you do as I suggested above, then you'll know a little bit more.
Someone in the forums said that letting someone else work on our trucks is like letting someone else work on our women and paying them for it - LOL!

^^isn't that why they should SEARCH thru these forums before they are spoon fed................. . .. . .. .. ....?
