Hola everyone!
I know I haven't been on here in a grip- got an apartment, moved back home, had to drive cross country moving my dad to West Virginia (which I LOVED btw. So.Much.WATER)
So now I get to focus on the Toy again.
Mods I've done so far -

4" skyjacker soft ride springs in back
3" lift up front (2" BJ spacer w/ t-bars cranked about an inch)
Bilstein shocks
Extended stainless steel brakelines
Skinny 33s (BFG KM2s)
5.29 gears and a complete third member from Marlin Crawler (with rear Grizzly locker o'course  )
Crawler cam from Lo Range offroad
Misc. stuff like welding the leaking radiator, new trans cooler lines etc

Ummm and I guess that's it for now.
This year I plan to paint the thing and get it fitted with either an ARB or that DIY front bumper kit from CBI

FINALLY my truck is tall! Yay! :D

Nice 1st gen!
I was in Pueblo and then Red River a few weeks ago for the motorcycle stuff... love the area's.
I am running 4:88's with my 33"s... I do more on road than off.

There's something about flat black... it's my color choice for my 53.

Oh oh nice ride dude! And the rpm's are fine once I hit that OD..like in the 2grand range at 65-70mph! I was surprised..I expected the opposite..so I get close to stock mpg (18 city) again! I used to hate my automatic, but now I'm liking it! The speedo is off.. um.. maybe 4-5 mph? But it's okay, that way I never speed ;) ....The Caddy, well, I haven't been pulled over yet! :D

Just a quick update - spent the weekend helping my good friend put in the new 5.29 ring and pinion into the front diff (Haven't put it into 4wd since the rear was put in.. the new pinion is to the far right

While we were down there decided to replace both CVs too.. man what a difference on the road.

All in all, it was a PITA putting everything back together, but well worth it.
Next time will be pics of me trying out the new gears in 4wd!

No.. I'd only put either an e locker or one of those arb air lockers in the front..but both are $$$$ so I'll stick to just having the rear locked :P

Smart move! You don't want a mechanical locker in the front. Truck is really coming along nicely!

You can go a lot of places with a decent set of tires and a rear locker. I want a front locker just because, but it's so low on my list that I don't know if I'll ever actually do it.

Erin, are you coming to Moab in October? We need some grey first gen domination!

I think I'd want to have a front bumper and winch before Moab - but it's def on my list when my truck is done!
..Done as in.. bumper, winch, paint, rock sliders! Almost there, almost there.
First time anybody's invited me though, thanks! :D

Sliders would be good, but you won't need a front bumper or winch. These trucks have a good approach angle, and you don't need a winch when there's other trucks around!

We didn't even need to use the winch last year except to pull out a Saab that got washed out in a mudslide. You should definitely get out there.

Are you serious?? Well... if others are cool about pulling me out when I get stuck... I just may! I need a fun vacation - my last "vacation" was following a uhaul pulling a horse trailer 1700 miles.. it kinda sucked.
Oh oh! Just saw your truck has 246k ? Mine just rolled past 240k. Wicked ! These things just keep on chugging.. I'm so glad I made the cross over to Toyota.

How do you like the Grizzly locker? I'm thinking of getting one when I get a IFS-width axle.

Oh, and my '85 has almost 242k on the original motor.

I know you asked her, but I will answer. I love mine. Hardly notice it is there, but it is always there when I need it. It makes a pop once in a blue moon when the springs unload, but you get used to it.

Come to moab! You deserve it! I'll be in the same boat as you in regards to no winch. I will be the weak link there because I'll basically have a stock 85 4runner with no lift, tires or lockers.

I have nothing to compare the grizzly with.. it's my first locker lol. But, its road manners are very manageable, sometimes I forget its back there until it bangs from me doing something unexpected.. usually during a turn.
Annd I can't give you any report of its use offroad as I haven't been able to go enjoy myself out there.. I have been DYING to try out the new set up!
I've gone two months without wheeling. That's too long.

Yes! I want to check out Moab! I been dreaming of it since I got my first 4x4.. happened to be a suburban, but still.
