Backup camera with tire carrier, researching.

Hey all,
most of you are smarter than I, and Im just starting to research this but Im looking for ideas on how to do a Backup camera with a tire carrier.
Im thinking my (spare) tire will be a littler higher than most so it will hinder my rear view. I know I seen somewhere, a backup camera that had a 5"-7" screen, seperate from a head unit, but cant seems to find something that will always be on. Maybe Im just using the wrong search terms lol.
Im thinking about just removing the rear view mirror and putting the 5"-7" display in its place, and mounting the camera on a roof rack. This way I will always have a clear view behind me, just as if the tire was underneath.
I hope this makes sense, lol.

Awesome, that a good start.. Im sure I could wire it to stay on.
Now to find a good screen.

My backup camera is mounted to the bottom of the rear bumper just to the side of the hitch. Works great.

I'm using a Garmin nuvi 7".replaced the mirror. Mounted the camera in the third brake light opening in rear spoiler. Instead of hooking back up cam to reverse light. Run it to a fused switch on the dash. For me it's power on ...rear view. Power off... gps. Good luck.

I have a trash bag on my tire so no camera there. Anyways. It works well where I put it.

I have the Garmin Dezl truck specific GPS...i believe it's 7 inch and it has a built in dash cam and also has an option for a wireless backup camera...although i haven't had any experience with the camera.
