Backup sensor constantly on!!!! Sooo frickin annoying!!

For some damn reason my backup sensors are beeping even though nothing is behind me! I had to just turn them off! I checked the sensors for damage and they visually appear to be fine. Anyone else having this same issue? I will probably put it off until the 5k mile service to fix but man its annoying!!!!! Grrrrrrr!!!!!!

From another thread you have your 2"ball in the reciever...thats what's triggering it.

Well I kinda wondered that, but figured you could leave a hitch in the darn thing....uhhhh ill try it without it. Bummer...

On mine if I do a 1.5" drop ball on an extended shank they wont go off. Anything less and I get the constant beeeeeeeeeep.

Hmmm mine is extended shank...... So it takes a little trial and error on what hitch is picked up by the sensors. I would like to keep something that sticks out from the vehicle a bit just in case someone gets a little too close.

I got hitch with 2" ball but it doesn't trigger backup sensor alarm.

I have a 2 position hitch that triggers it, but my shackle hitch does not, but it also only extends about 1/2 the distance of the other one. If you have the cam there is really no reason for the sonar, only if you really want to be extra extra careful and you have a known history of backing into things I guess.

If you want to keep your hitch, hit that little button on the left of your steering wheel and turn the sensors off.

If its any help, I use a Reese 2" drop hitch that does not trigger my sensors. Its 12" long, and extends 8.5" from the end of the receiver when installed. I bought it at Wal Mart in a kit with a locking pin. Walmart.com: Reese Towpower Towing Security Kit: Automotive
