Bad wheel bearing

I just recently had both the drivers side and passenger side wheel bearings replaced, including dust covers, for $530 at a local tire shop. Dealer wanted $700 per side for a grand total of $1400. That is insane to me. I would recommend finding a tire shop or CV axle specialist and see what they charge. Might save a bunch of time.



My symptoms were a hum at 60mpg and up. Slight turn to the right and the hum went away. Slight turn to the left and the hum was still there. Turns out the driver-side bearing wasn't as bad as the passenger, but it was on it's way to being a problem. Figured I'd rather deal with it now than 6 months from now.

Yikes! Cost me 185 a piece for the bearings and a couple hours of my time. Easy to do really.

my all new assemblies are still cheaper and warrantied :thumbsup:

Don't make the mistake of ordering the different parts and thinking you will get it cheaper than what this guy is selling the whole complete unit for. http://www.toyota-4runner.org/bumpe...-front-wheel-bearing-assemblies-anywhere.html I made that mistake, had to send the crap I got back and order from these guys. They are awesome! and by far the cheapest you will find.

I just bought my wife a 2003 4Runner Limited 4.7L she loves it I love the power!!! other than the test drive prior to purchase I have not had a chance to drive it until last night I had it on the parkway for a 60 mile run and noticed the humming noise from the front and it going away when turning to the right and getting worse turning to the left
I checked on line for the bearings found the Blue something bearings for 285 per side then checked on here 170 per side includes shipping ! I ordered them on the spot. Thanks for all the great info on this site you guys are the best!

Just an update on the bearings recommended by T-MAN they work perfectly all the noise I had is gone along with a vibration I thought was tire balance. Thanks man :thumb3: ! Sorry it took so long to update work has been keeping me very busy...
