Bajarack UT Flat experience?

Love the rack. Quality build. Good customer service. Ordered and delivered in less than three weeks. The powder coat seems well done.

The front feet sit right on the roof rack molding.

Tried to enlarge a pic I took in the fall of the front feet. The other pic is just hamming it up while checking the support of the rack while standing on it. The 4Runner in the background is my 2009 TE.

Perfect. So the feet don't rest/stick on the paint, only on the black rain gutter/roof molding?

I am doing the group buy, but will be placing some body guard down to protect the paint under the fairing.

Asking all these questions because I originally wanted a Gobi, but the garage I often park in for work would take the Gobi off even without a lift, so something shorter is needed.

Correct on feet on resting on the rain gutter molding. You do have a little bit of adjustment on the front - so you can have a half an inch or so of separation between the fairing and the roof. Check out the closeup of the pic and you can see the way the bolts line up. You can lower or raise the rack just a bit.

I am not sure, but will be prepared if it is needed.

That is good news for me as well. If I can adjust it I can minimize wind noise.

I didn't say they don't come with sticky feet. I said mine doesn't have sticky feet. To say someone is lying is pointless unless you can prove that. The fact that you know some versions come without sticky feet makes your comment that much more pointless.

I bought mine in Feb last year. I have no idea if it is an older model or not. But it does not have sticky feet.

Also I added a light bar to the rack. I had it on top mounted to the mounting tabs but there was too much wind resistance and noise. So I move it to the front of the fairing and it works much better for me that way. Also because mine was damaged when I got it, I have contoured the front lower bar to match the roof contour so it sits closer to the roof than a new one would.

why? they all do... even your factory rack does

Here ya go. There is a flexible rubber type foam gasket that is affixed to the bracket that rests on the roof - as shown in the pics.

When you torque down the bolts that piece compresses. IMO it's a nice solid fit with no metal in contact with paint.

Lot of good choices out there for racks. This one happens to fit my needs for climbing and exploration trips. Also fits nicely in my garage.

Thanks Team360. If one removes the rack after a couple a years there will be color differences in the paint. That overlap is more than I expected. Granted, not easily seen, but for us OCD folks...

Butthurt much? You just proved my point. And NO I didn't KNOW that there is a version without sticky feet. I just installed it 2 days ago and there ARE sticky feet. So thanks for proving what I said to be true. Yours is a different(and older) version without sticky feet. Notice the 'OR' in my statement. Get over your self.

Ordered in May 2015, mine didn't come with sticky feet but it did come with foam padding under the feet. My Previous Gobi rack did come with sticky feet.

I'm thinking that some of the members on here might be confused as to the question. Yes the foam padding is stuck to the bottom of the rack, but the bottoms are not adhesive. Think of it as single sided 3M tape.

Team360's photo shows this in detail. The foam is attached to the rack feet with adhesive, but where the pad comes in contact with the track and roof of the car there is no adhesive.

Please don't pile on [MENTION=2791]trigger[/MENTION] by calling him out, he is correct. I think everyone is just confused as to the question and what constitutes sticky feet lol

Anyone have the measurement on this rack, measuring from the roof panel to the highest point on the rack? Or another way to ask this, anyone running stock suspension/tires in a Trail or TRD PRO with this rack that could measure the overall height? much appreciated in advance.

Hey folks, first post here. Sorry to revive such an old thread, but I've browsed the various threads on the Baja Rack's and haven't seen this question addressed yet.

I'm going to order a Baja Flat UT rack for my Runner shortly. I plan to get one of the ones with the cutout for the sunroof. I'm trying to decide if I should pay the extra $$$ to get the optional sunroof insert as well. Anyone have experiences with this? If you have the rack with the sunroof cutout, how often and in what situations are you using your insert? (Or do you wish you'd bought an insert?)
