Battery terminal too small?

I just did the big 3 upgrade, and the negative terminal that came with the kit doesn't tighten enough on the post. It's an XScorpion brand terminal, like this one:

Even with the shim in it, I can't tighten it down enough so that it's a secure connection. With the clamp tightened all the way, I can still pull the terminal off the post by hand.

Thoughts? Ideas?

maybe they sent you two positive terminals.

If it isn't like Victor inox suggested and you don't want to hassle with changing it you can make a shim out of copper pipe. Cut a piece of 1/2" pipe to the length of the post height. Then split it. To make it smaller you can snip an end a little at a time and test fit til it is right. I have used this technique on a bunch of things over the years and it works well.

Yep it sounds like you're trying to install a positive terminal on a negative post.
