Beer thread!

I enjoy quite a few craft beers with many different flavors, but I usually go for IPA because of the higher ALC./VOL.

One of my favorite beers is the oatmeal stout from Four Peaks. Unfortunately they do not bottle it, and other oatmeal stouts are hard to come by as well.

I try to get something new as much as possible. Though this is getting to be less and less since I get most of my beer from the grocery store and there selection is limited. There is a place I like to go called Total Wine and there beer selection is pretty amazing. They have all sorts of craft beers from all around the world.

I decided a couple months ago to start collecting the one bottle/can of every good beer I buy. Here is what I have so far.

My favorite drinking beer is sam adams boston lager.
flying dog snake dog IPA and Sweetwater lowRYEder IPA are good. I haven't worked my way up to the stronger IPA's yet.
sierra Nevada pale ale and sweetwater 420 are also good.

There is also a new local brewery here in town that has some pretty good stuff. Appalachian mountain brewery

I am drinking a brew from Boulder beer company called Hazed & Infused. It is one of the better brews I have had.

Usually a Shiner or Stella Artois drinker. Not a big fan of darker beers.

Picked up a six pack sampler the other day. It came with:

White Cap Wheat, Rocky Mountain Red Ale, Plaid Bastard Strong Scotch Ale, Summit Pale Ale, Pumphouse Lager, Wooly Booger Nut Brown Ale.

Haven't tried the last two yet, but I just opened the Summit and it will be very difficult to beat! Thanks for the heads up on this brewer I'll definitely be buying more from them.

Never realized Sam Adams was so popular elsewhere. My go-to is Blue Moon. All day, every day.

I'll throw in another vote for CO beers; so many to choose from! As I write this though, I'm drinking a Key Ice.....:lalala: I know....

I'll also second the vote for Drydock Apricot, as well as their amber. Hop Abomination was way too hoppy for me though.

Grimm Bro's in Loveland has some good ones, and I still haven't had anything from Big Beaver (Big Beaver Brewing Company, Loveland Colorado Home) but their logo and beer names are worth mention.

Even though they've kinda gone macro, Blue Moon has some pretty good seasonal or other beers. I really like their Short Straw Farmhouse Red! Rounders is good too.

Even Windsor has a brewery; High Hops. I hear it's good, although I haven't been there.

I like the wheat beers, especially the fruit ones. Estes Park's Longs Peak Raspberry, Bear Lake Blueberry, and Stinger Honey are awesome.

Try this: Sam Adams Cherry wheat mixed with a good stout (not Guiness), my favorite being Youngs double chocolate, black and tan style. Amazing.

CooperSmiths in FtCo has the only IPA I like, Punjabi. Their Honey Lavender Blonde is awesome too, just tell them your ordering it for your wife.

I could keep going, but I finished my Key Ice, gotta go grab another.... Hey, it's $10 a dozen....!

Good pick! Plaid Bastard is a regular pick for me, excellent flavor and a mind numbing ABV %. White Cap Wheat is definitely one of my favored wheat brews. And its brewed with water from the headwaters of the Colorado. Can life get any better?

Haha. I never heard of them before. I will have to keep an eye out, those labels would be a great addition to my collection.

Edit: Never mind, I see they don't bottle. I like the reason the don't, but I probably won't get the chance to try there beer. Maybe someday I will be in that area.

dogfishhead festina peche - really heavy on the peach, very summery, something I kind of liked about it

SN fall tumbler - always a winner. I love this beer. just dark enough for fall, not quite a winter beer, taste some spices and other fall crap, but not a pumpkin brew

I went to Copper Kettle Yesterday in Denver (1 block north of Parker and Florida). I had what they call a Choclate Mexican Stout. Amazing! Spicy fades to chocolate fades to cinnamon. Next time I go I'll be bringing a growler back with me.

Let's bring this one back. Just had a good one from Crabtree Brewery in Greeley called Peachtree Cherry Wheat. Very subtle in the fruit aspect, but good!

My hops are ALMOST ready to be harvested. I'm going to be brewing up one hell of an awesome fall beer using nothing but the hops I've been growing.

This is just a small number of the huge amount of hops I have growing!

Anyone want to get together for some wheeling, and home brew tasting?

What's everyone recommend for a Lager? I have been mostly drinking Hef's but I have taking a liking to Lager's. I like Frosters but it's just too big for a beer a day quota ...
