Beer thread!

My hops are ALMOST ready to be harvested. I'm going to be brewing up one hell of an awesome fall beer using nothing but the hops I've been growing.

This is just a small number of the huge amount of hops I have growing!

Anyone want to get together for some wheeling, and home brew tasting?

110% down for that. Brewed a Mexican lager a while back that didn't turn out so good. Going to try again, maybe something darker for fall.

Speaking of which, the seirra nevada fall tumbler is one of my favorites. Super toasty, chestnut, caramel, malt. Nothing like sitting by a fire when it's getting cold with a few of those

I had the best beer I have ever tasted last week. Trappist Rochefort 8 is the name. Google it for the history and it is as good as all the reviewers say. The Rochefort 10 is a bit strong but the 8 is my favorite beer of all, and I have had a few throughout the years.

What's everyone recommend for a Lager? I have been mostly drinking Hef's but I have taking a liking to Lager's. I like Frosters but it's just too big for a beer a day quota ...

Sticking with that style, which is more like your standard American beer, I would try to convince you to go Mexican and drink Pacifico

Besides drinkin coors original draft all the time I throughly enjoy Red Stripe Jamaican Lager. Now I might have to go pick one up..or a few...yay beer!

Best local brew I've found is called Three Philosophers put out by Ommegang brewery in Cooperstown NY. Outstandingly good Belgian blend.
Best American beer that's I know of is Deschutes Brewery's Mirror Pond Pale Ale. Ridiculously good.
Best overseas brew I've found is called Celebratory Bock made in Germany. Nectar of the gods right there.
