Behind grille light bar complete kits

If I get it wired up to where the switch dims I will post a reply here to let you know.

The whites are beautiful though I seem to spend more time on the rim just because it's closer to where I live in the greater Phoenix area. My jeep grand Cherokee had the Quadra track 1 system on it (no low range) and I had put a front and rear spacer lift on it with some nice Firestone destination ATs. It got me pretty much everywhere I wanted to go but it was certainly nowhere near as capable as the 4runner. The 4runner will definitely cut a few miles off of my boots...

That's awesome you have a fly fishing partner! My wife not so much. She will go backpacking with me however so that's good enough :thumb:

The item that I ordered along with the paperwork/generic wiring info that came with my shipment is from Freedom LED bars. There is no writing on the light bar itself to designate a manufacturer though. However everything points to Freedom LED bars. The light itself has no striped wires but rather a female factory style connector and the harness has the corresponding male factory style connector. It all looks to be very high-quality to me.

Perhaps Rago will see this post and chime in with some answers. To me it seems the difference is between the early 5th GEN models versus the later models...

Hello!

Rago Fabrication designs and manufactures all of our own brackets.

Our lights, switches, and harnesses are all imported from a supplier China. I would consider them mid-grade without the hype and price tag.

You will definitely get a better quality light bar from Rigid, Baja, and KC but they definitely come with a price tag. We will never advertise ourselves as just as good as the big guys because they own proprietary technology with warranties that cannot be beat. We do offer Rigid and currently adding KC and Baja as options but it's out of most people's budget.

Our bars are not advertised as plug and play but have been transitioning to plug and play as we continue to restock. The 22" LED Bars 2010-2013 4Runners still have the standard wiring. We do have install videos that do cover wiring.

As far as any dissatisfaction with our products, I have noted to AudiTech on a FB group, he can contact me and return any item he is unhappy with for a full refund. It's very rare for us to have dissatisfied customers and if they contact us, we will do our best within reason to resolve the matter.

Please contact me at [email protected] for any assistance.

All the best - Melissa

When you sell the bar, mounts, and harness together as a package I don’t think it’s a stretch to expect the components of the package to be plug and play with each other.

You did not say I could return anything I was unhappy with, you said I could return the relay holder.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not hating on you guys and regretting my purchase (except the harness and relay holder, I absolutely would have taken you up on returning the relay holder if I hadn’t already tossed the original retaining clip mount form the relay and I did a lot of modification on the harness to make it suitable for an exterior application so I wouldn’t return that and start over now). In my review I said I felt you guys were an awesome company to deal with and I felt it was worth the purchase if you grab it on sale. There are a lot of cut corners with the details, I had high expectations but I believe I even said in the end this is more along the lines of getting what you pay for vs getting a bargain.

No hard feelings on my end. If you guys come up with some other stuff that imterests me I would lower my expectations but I wouldn’t hesitate to do business with you guys again.

i run these on my 4R. Only modification i had to do was trim some plastic for my 32" bar. I could've saved like $40 by going to Lowes and fabricating my own, but for the time, effort, and paint, i just went with a pair Ragofab spent the time to design, fab, and paint. Haven't had a single problem since i got them over a year ago.

:)

We take our business and our customer satisfaction to heart. We are a small business and strive to make everyone happy. I offered a return on the relay holder since you stated you were unhappy with it. The harness itself is included with the bar and it's not an item that is returnable unless you send the package back. Instead of contacting me regarding an issue and allowing us to see if we could help, you called our product junk here and on a FB group which I can't help but take personally.

I went ahead and refunded you on the difference for the added relay holder for your discounted package.

As mentioned before, we haven't ever had any issues with our relay holders before. Not discounting your opinion, but we have sold tons of them without any complaints. Everything we design and manufacture is tested and installed before we ever sell anything to ensure it all works as described. I haven't ever had anyone report any problems with the relays coming off of the holder.

As mentioned, we do offer other light packages and personally do not manufacture the lighting or the accessories. We offer budget friendly packages along with high end bars such as Rigid.

I definitely wish you the best and happy trails.

Rago Fab/Melisa,

I have not started the install process on my 32" led bar kit but so far I'm am pleased with the product, especially the upgraded light bar to harness connection you mentioned.

My question is- Do you have a wiring diagram that you can provide to assist with wiring your provided Toyota switch so that it illuminates when the parking/headlights are turned on AND dims with the factory dimmer switch? This should be possible assuming the switch provided with the kit is set up for this function like the AOB switches. The wiring instructions provided with the kit did not address the dimming function and are very vague. They simply state connect "X" wire to the "illumination" circuit. The actual package that the switch was in appears to have some type of wiring diagram on it that may be helpful but it is faded to the point that it is illegible perhaps due to low printer ink.

Just looking for some additional assistance to round out a good product. Thanks!

To use the dimming function, you will have to splice into an existing illumination wire on another switch. You can locate it using a multimeter tool.

Please call us with any further questions and we will gladly help.

a couple of things:

 • Rago Fabrication's Customer Service is second to NONE. I would say this is their motto, but it is just who they are. The entire company is 2 people: Melissa and Mario. They are a husband and wife combo that kick butt at making stuff and listening to their customers. ...somehow they manage their family while doing all of this.

 • Rago Fabrication is a fabrication company first and foremost. They have built items to the specific needs of their customers. They do not make LED lights, wiring harnesses, switches, relays, or electrical connectors. They sell the best products they can find at the best possible price to accompany their products - Fabricated Parts for Specific Uses.

 • There is no such thing as a "Plug and Play" application in this price range. Trust me. I don't see any way to buy, bundle, or build a kit that takes 10 minutes to install with every aspect of it being 100% plug and play while paying the prices that Rago Fabrication asks. As someone that does all his own custom wiring and overseen several people do their own; this is the best out of the box kit for the money.

 • Their Hidden Light Bar Bracket is worth every penny. Why? These are powder coated steel brackets that are adjustable to fit several types of light bars. They do not move, rattle, of come loose. They utilize the OEM bolts of OEM strength that are already on your 4Runner. Only cutting is needed for the plastic valence that is used as an internal scoop for the radiator. This does not affect the operation of the vehicle in any way. The reason you pay for more than just materials: design, fabrication, testing, and support. You get all of these with Rago Fabrication.

 • ...and finally: any modification to your vehicle is done at your own risk, and requires you or your installer to have a certain amount of skill to install anything that is not OEM. I cannot overstate this. Rago Fabrication is making a kit to "enable" you to do modifications to your 4Runner. You must be prepared for the fact that nothing goes perfectly 100% of the time. That being said: I had no problems installing this or any other product I have purchased from Rago Fabrication.

I have mounted 2 different light bars to my Rago Fabrication brackets. My Opt7 bar was flood only and not as high quality as my Freedom LED bar from Rago Fabrication. As for the bracket, there is no rust or bending. They are just as strong and stable as they were when I put them on 7 months and 25,000 miles ago. They have seen snow, rain, mud, horrible roads, great trails, and the massacre of several insects.

Will I buy from these guys again? Absolutely!!! I can't wait to see what they come up with next.

To make things really easy, I actually tied the illumination of these buttons to an add-a-ciricuit on the fuse panel that was unused. You can use a multi-meter or even a test light to find out which unused fuse slot is powered with the ignition switch in the "ON" position. This keeps me from tapping into the factory wiring AND allows me to use a 3A fuse between the illumination circuit of these switches and my vehicle.

I hope that helps. :tea:

It wasn’t an issue I was looking for help with, its simply a bad design. It’s a holder that removes the one retaining method you would have had without it. You literally pay extra for another part to make it less secure. It’s not an installation issue, it’s not a defective part, it’s a bad design. I did not call your product out, I did not make a thread to specifically call it out, I posted my install as it went and that’s where I was in the process.

I have no doubt you that you guys haven’t had any complaints about it before, everything Inread was positive hence the reason I had high expectations buying the package from you guys. I always read as many reviews as I can, unfortunately I think a lot of people in general, either talk something up because they spent money on it or they simply don’t know any better.

I appreciate the refund.

Yes I was thinking of going this route perhaps also. I do like the idea of having a fuse location. However wiring it this way, if I'm correct, wouldn't that cause the illumination of the light to light up every time the key was turned on rather than just when the headlights are turned on? Also there would be no dimming feature…

I will just have to start digging around with my multi meter. Thanks for all the input folks!

I tapped into my "tail light" fuse so the only time the switch illumination comes on is when I turn on my headlights/taillights or if the switch is in use. If you want to be able to dim then you will have to tap in the factory wiring. I personally don't care much for the dimmer and rather not messing with factory wiring so full power illumination is fine with me and not distracting by any means when driving at night.

All this complaining about a $10 add-on piece of metal? Don't get me wrong I like quality products just like the rest of us but to complain that much about something so minimal (that you ended up tossing away) is nit-picky in my opinion.

That being said, I just ordered my full kit today (thanks to this thread) and am excited for it to come in!

What do you mean all this? I said in my review/install of the package that the piece is a bad design that doesn't properly do what it's supposed to do. It was a buyer beware - this isn't worth buying here's the reason why. Nothing more nothing less, that was the extent of it. I tagged them so they could be aware of the issue, I didn't complain to the company, I didn't demand a refund, I didn't try to return it, I didn't go around bashing the company...

This is likely the route I may go. Especially since I never dim my interior Dash late anyhow LOL. Was there a specific style of fuse tap that you used to tap into your tail light fuse?

Calling a product a POS, junk, and stating if you were to order from us again, you would lower your expectations is kind of bashing in my opinion.

Either way...I have tried to stay civil but your complaint was not made constructively.

I will truly accept a return from you on our products and will even pay for return shipping to end this madness. We have made thousands of other customers happy with our products so we must be doing something right. To attribute our success to customers not knowing better as stated above is not only condescending it is rude.

you are correct on all accounts. This isn't an issue for me, but I would completely understand if it does not work for you. I was just trying to simplify things.

Anyone have one of those 10% off coupons? :becky:

If you’re using Google Chrome, download the “Honey” extension and it will test coupon codes on any site you try and checkout on. It has saved me a bunch including on this purchase, but I cant remember what the code was since it inputs it automatically for me.
