hey,

Can someone help me....my engine belts are starting to make a chipping noise when i start/warm the car up...this only happens when its raining outside or its really cold. I bought my car to the dealer, they said they dont hear anything. the reason why they dont hear anything is because by the time i drive to the dealer the car is already warmed up.

Hey I have had similar squeaking belt problems in my past vehicles and I have tried all the belt dressing products out there. The belt dressing that I found to work the best and get those belts to stop squeaking was a product by Permatex called belt dressing. It came in a tube and all i did was apply this gooey stuff on to a small brush or even my fingers to the underside of the belts. JUst rub this stuff to as much of the underside of your belts (the grooved part that touches the pullies) while the engine is cold so you won't burn yourself and then turn the engine on to allow the stuff to work its way into the belt. Your squeaking belt issues will be over. Hope this helps.
