Nice pick up on the supercharger. BTW, I'm running the static tensioner myself as that is what came with my SC and you will be fine. Eventually I'll get a dynamic tensioner, but I'm good with mine now. I just put mine on and it definitely helps a lot with hills and overall fun. We are pretty much doing the same stuff as I just put on my SC and doing LBJ's and tie rods next.

Funny you mention a supercharged Tacoma, I had a 99 in 05 and sold it two years later. I always missed that truck and told myself I would supercharge my 4runner when I got the chance.

Thanks! I figured I'd stick with the static tensioner for now too. I check my belts every oil change anyways and don't mind tightening it up manually on occasion if needed. Just another reason to stay in touch with what's going on under my hood.

I always missed my Tacoma too. Kept pics of it and sometimes checked craigslist for it. Funny thing is about 2 months after I got my 4Runner, my old Tacoma popped up for sale in Charleston, which is where the buyer lived. I contacted him and it was the same guy. Had some back and forth and I was glad to hear he'd taken care of the truck and gotten all sorts of use out of it. That SC was still going strong!

Santa put on a USPS outfit and made an unseasonable stop by my place today! The box it came in was all beat up and had me worried but I think everything made it damage free. Both pulleys spin freely and i can feel suction on the TB when I spin the nose pulley by hand. Time to start ordering other stuff! I'm going to do valve cover gaskets at such during my install so I've gotta collect more than just the SC related parts. I can't wait to get this thing on!

Nice! That is the spacer that goes between the tensioner bracket and the supercharger on the top bolt. Also make sure your tensioner pulley is tightened onto the bracket. Mine wasn't and was rubbing on the bracket when I tightened everything down, so I had to take it all apart again.

You will love the supercharger. I'd replace the nose cone oil while it's off the truck unless it was changed recently. And replace the lower intake manifold gasket when you install it. :cheers:

How are you liking the duratracs? I'm looking at tires myself and was considering the duratracs and toyo open country. Mainly looking for a decent look, decent off-road traction(light duty) and a most importantly a quiet ride.....

Shhhhhhhh.... I just ended the auction. I've been back and forth on it all day. I got a little worked up after convincing myself I needed to add the URD 7th and do the trans valve body upgrade immediately. I'm going to put it on stock and see if I have pinging - if so I'm going to try a couple things to reduce the boost until I can afford the URD 7th. If those don't work I'll pull it off and stick it in the closet or back up on ebay. The suspense is obviously taking its toll...

I absolutely love the Duratracs. Surprisingly quiet, great offroad traction and I love the looks. You can't go wrong. I have just over 20k miles on them and have rotated them every 5k. They have at least half the tread left on them.

Trust me you don't need to do the 7th and valve body right away. I'm literally at sea level and have been more than fine with just the SC, 91 octane and IK22's. No pinging whatsoever and I feel confident in keeping it that way till I can afford the 7th. Don't waste your money reducing the boost because you won't need to and will want more boost anyways. Just bolt it on and enjoy. With something like a supercharger you need to install it right away. Otherwise you will think about it too much and "rationalize" that you don't need it, but you do. I was really close to calling it quits on my 4runner, but with the SC I've fallen in love again. It just makes driving it so much easier and nicer and I never really mash on the pedal. You'll love it and find there is more than enough power right away, but the thing is you'll WANT more power.

K I was planning on it just wanted to be sure you weren't running the original and accidently restricting boost.

I'm probably going to do the VC gaskets at the same time just because I've done so many jobs before and skipped something that required the same wrench turning only to have to do it soon after. I really hate doing things twice.

Got a few SC related things done this weekend. I drained the oil and was glad to see it was still a nice golden color. I also detached the old throttle body. I guess I'll figure out what it fits on and put it on ebay.

I ordered some parts too. GM SC oil, TRD SC belt, TRD TB gasket, IAC check valve, and a new fuel filter. I'm starting to think I should skip the valve cover gasket job for not just because mine didn't leak even when the bolts were loose. I should be able to get everything else locally - PS belt, A/C belt, spark plugs, t-stat, manifold spacer stuff, hoses, etc.

Order the denso IK22 spark plugs online. I couldnt find them in stores after calling around to like 5+ places. Besides there cheaper online if you search around.

Well my parts started trickling in today. Got the IK22s and the tstat. SC oil and some Toyota red will be here tomorrow, then the oem stuff Friday. Go figure I've got a busy weekend ahead... So I'm taking a day off next week just for this install. :thumb:
