[MENTION=116470]Tyler James Inc[/MENTION] yeah I don't know what happened. Got it from RockAuto and it was a disaster. Clutch wouldn't disengage. (Pressure plate fingers must have been pushing onto clutch disk before disengagement) Had to pull transmission and reinstall the old clutch and send it back due to lack of time. Couldn't risk flipping disk around and maybe have to remove transmission for a 3rd time that day. When I attempt to tackle it again, I'll just go straight to Toyota for pressure plate and flywheel.

At any rate, there is a thread or image from FSM somewhere that says the 3.4 is the odd duck with a clutch disk facing opposite of just about all others. Too little too late for me now, but might help somebody

100% vote for the Aisin. My buddy has an Exedy or whatever in his Tacoma, and says he hates it, but I have no personal experience. He said the guys on TacomaWorld say nothing but OEM/Aisin/Marlin. Marlin uses a Aisin/Sachs combo, so it's basically OEM with a higher holding pressure.
Resurface your OEM flywheel. The LUK flywheel is cheap, and even Marlins guys will tell you they won't recommend them. They only sell them because customers kept asking why they don't sell flywheels. He said they honestly just get em from the parts store down the street, and they don't even come close to comparing to OEM flywheel.
That said, I am running an LUK flywheel, cause I didn't have $400 to spend on an OEM unit. Not happy about it, but it is what it is.
Happy with the Aisin clutch kit from Amazon though, and they're super reasonably priced.

I can cosign all of this, for both Aisin CKT-040 clutch from Amazon ($198 when I bought it) and LUK flywheel from NAPA (about $80 back then). Combo has been smooth as butter for 60k now.
