Bought my 94 4runner 7 months ago with a really bad rod knock had a bearing that was torn up i replaced the bearing with a undersized bearing through the oil pan and it still runs! ( still knocking though). Probably not the story your looking for haha.

I traded for my 95 4runner three months ago and it had a bad cylinder and a slightly bad head gasket and it just started leaking oil real bad. still runs and drives like a champ though..lol..:thumb3:

I tore the counter weight off my transfer case and punctured it on the mountain and couldn't fix it until i got back to camp. I must have drove it 15-20 miles with it empty. The next morning I filled it up and drove home. Haven't had any problems since.

Back when I worked at a Honda dealership, I saw a 4Runner taken for a test run after having some minor maintenance stuff done in the shop. When he got back, the mechanic realized he had forgot to put oil back in it first! It was still running as if nothing had happened.

My 3rd gen got the pink milkshake (tran fluid mixes w/ coolant) while I was coming back from Austin at 2am. Drove it the rest of the way back to San Antonio.

My '81 pickup is still running and has either 200K on it or 300K on it, I'm not sure how many times the odometer has turned over! Of course I've had to replace nearly everything on it several times. Besides the normal consumables I've replaced the windshield, driveshaft twice, tranny 3 times, replaced the head twice, rebuilt the engine 3 times and replaced the carb with a Weber when it died. They weren't nearly as reliable back then as they are these days. I think the only parts still remaining unchanged are the radiator and cast iron engine block!
