best lift

im wanting to lift my 99 limited. i want about 3". ive looked at toytec and thought about the 3" front and rear coil spring lift. thats about the price range i want to be at. My question is what coils would give the best ride? im not looking to put aftermarket bumper. maybe a bull bar or brush gaurd but im wanting a lift first and i just replaced the shocks about 6000 miles ago so id like to keep those. if possible. i dont do alot of off roading just doing it mostly for the look and dont want a BL becuase i dont want a gap and want more that 1"of lift.

ok well that question and the first one you asked are to totally different... and no you will need to replace your shocks and struts with a lift, other wise you will have severally limited travel and prematurely wear out your new shocks and struts

Here let me actually help you.

I would not get the OME complete kit from toytec. OME coils are great and all, but I do not like their shocks. I originally bought that Complete OME kit and have replaced quite a few things on it.

For a good ride, you will need to piece a few things together. Get 881 front coils, Bilstien 5100 front shocks(adjustable height so no need for TOS), 890 rear coils and the Bilstien 5125 rear shocks.



That is just my opinion. You can still get the Complete OME kit with 881 +TOS, 890 and OME shocks, but you will be happier with the bilstien shocks.

EDIT: The complete OME kit through toytec is $758.99, and the mix of parts I mentioned is $739.96... food for thought..

Because the 882s and 883s give 3" of lift without the spacer (and that's with 100-150 lbs. extra from a bumper/winch). Without the extra weight, you'll get about 3.5" of lift out of the 883s and almost 4" out of the 882s and they'll ride a bit stiffer. But since you don't need the top spacer with those coils, they're cheaper.

I think it depends. I'm very happy with the way my 883s/OME Comfort Shocks up front ride. I replaced my rear OME shocks with Tokico Trekmasters only because they are longer, but the OME shocks rode fine back there when I had them. Once you add as much weight as I have in armor and other crap, the OME kits really do ride awesome (and IMO better than anything out there). But on a non-armored truck, I think the Billies ride a little smoother.

I was actually looking at just the spring lift. But I can't do just new springs because my shocks aren't long enough correct?


And sorry about the dumb questions haha I'm a newbie and have been reading Alot of other post and wanted to ask a few questions myself.

Im going for the 2.5" tundra coils, maybe a 3/8 spacer if needed. Its a nice ride with 5100s.

where are you located, i have a set of 8wrap LC coils that i could sell you if you are local, i dont want to ship them and you probably dont want to pay for shipping. yes id say dont use spacers, just find a set of springs you want and go for them. i wasnt trying to be a jerk earlier, so many people come on here and their first or second post is "what lift should i get...?" its hard for us to tell you that, one because we dont know you and what your intent is with the vehicle, or your plans with it in the future, two cause we dont know you financial state or capabilities and third we dont know how well you can turn a wrench or tune things or piece things together ect. besides the fact that there are probably around 20 or so different lift setups/combos out there for our trucks, so for someone to go thought all of them every time someone asks this question gets old. i too have been looking for tundra coils for almost a year now and havent found a set yet. good luck
