Best of Both Worlds? (Trail/TRD)

Got my wife a "surprise" 4Runner for Valentines. Her favorite, a 2016
White 4Runner Trail w/KDSS.

Now, for her bday, another surprise, TRD PRO rims, and new Michelin LTS m/2's!

I showed her all the methods, Konigs, and FN's, and she still liked the TRD's the best. Luckily, I had a deal on hold from the dealer for "TRD rims at cost", to seal the deal, if she wanted them...

She doesn't like the black on the TRD or badges, and we spend most time on dirt, pedaling our MTB's, so a trail with KDSS, with TRD rims, seems perfect. Also, I found out in the past, getting my bikes airborne, is much cheaper than your daily driver. #ripjeepwrangler

I have the Toytec TAC2 for the front to level it, but thought I'd get the rims on first, hoping the TAC2 is like "warm", just right, porridge, not too high or too low.

I had no idea the rims were flat black, so they're better in person than I thought!

I'm not jealous, as I'm still rocking the black 2001 Sport, who needs all the extra horsepower, improved ride, extra room, ok, I'll stop. Lol

Good story.

I surprised my wife with a new CRV for Christmas a few years ago. Hid it in the garage with a giant bow. Fun.

Gave her Eclipse to her daughter who wrecked it 3 weeks later. Not fun.

I didn't see a real "invoice", as I was simply escorted to the parts dept to inspect the rims and then swiped the debit card.

So, I "paid", $420-something. Basically $400 + tax.

I did see paperwoek that looked like $800-ish was a "price". Don't know what that was, as they sell on eBay for $850, $895, etc...

I wouldn't be surprised if I paid $400 to guarantee all "10's" on the SETF survey, as it was the GM himself that agreed to the rims the night of buying the car. Dealers can do anything they want with the Benjamin's when they WANT TO, right?

Getting credit for the factory tires, allowing a cheap price on the Michelins was the most surprising part. We are set on tires till about 2022, LTX's last forever. Tested them today on some steep moguls and soft sand, and I was very surprised. I doubt I'll ever by an off-road tire again.
