Best quality cases other than Pelican?

I am familiar with Pelican but somewhere on the forum I have seen some cool alternatives. I'd like VERY high quality and durable units for water and fuel that can be mounted to the outside of the 4Runner or secured inside (if not fuel of course).

I am sure once someone says the name it'll be one of those OH Yeah!! moments...:shrug:

Just went to their site...appears to be all about great cases for SMALL items/gear (e.g. phones, cameras).

Am I missing something?

Always love any reason to drive up to Ft. Collins (and marvel at the massive growth too).

Storm was the other case similar to pelican by I think pelican bought them. But for storing fuel and water I think you might be thinking of the rotopax.

Starlight was the other good case maker. Never got as big as storm or pelican. I have a couple of them. I think they are still made.

They make the Rotopax specifically for worter. In-fact IIRC they are cheaper

I have 2 of the 2-gallon rotopax water tanks that mount up on my roof rack sunroof insert. Super secure mounting and the plastic containers themselves are thick and tough, not going to break/puncture one without trying.

Well, for cases there are Storm, Hardigg, and Pelican which are all very similar.

I use Scepter Military Issue Cans for both fuel and water. I bought the fuel versions off Ebay a year of so ago for around $50 each, great deal considering there are no longer imported from Scepter Canada into the US for some reason, probably emissions... The water version is still available.

Here is one strapped to the side of the spare on my rack:

For my toys and gear, I bought 2 Hardigg Military Medical chests off ebay as well, snagged a 2 for $110 shipped!!! Smoking deal!!! They are water tight, float, and tough as nails.

Keep yer eyes peeled on FeeBay, there are some killer deals on good condition, used mil-spec cases. Last time I checked there were some Scepter Cans on there too but the sellers were asking upwards of $100 each for the ones in good shape, highway robbery.
