And the LC teasers have begun, the 2 door looks amazing and check out the second photo, is that that 4 door photo Land Cruiser or it looks more like a 4Runner to me?

2 door is an FJ40. 4 door is the upcoming Land Cruiser. Looks like we are getting a GX with different plastics as the NA Land Cruiser. Rumor was a real Wrangler / Bronco fighter. I wasn’t expecting a removable roof, but I was expecting something a little more aggressive looking than a midsize body over 33” tires. I think the GX looks great and is super appealing as a Defender fighter. This seems redundant.

it does look like a current 4R front end to me. those look like horrible approach and departure angles.
I'm assuming the LC is indeed the "overlanding" family version and the 4R will be the "offroading" version. If not, this will be a huge miss by Toyota (and exactly what many of us suspected).

Looks similar to the GX but the link from the Plano grapevine looks like a better match.

Eh I dig the profile, definitely understand the 70 series references.
Was hoping for an externally mounted spare but if we somehow get a rear steel bumper ala trailhunter this is a set of steelies and maybe a mild lift away from being pretty rad imo.
Do agree with the thoughts on hopefully not getting some type of detuned GX power plant, but ima be waiting for the hybrid anyway.

The hood doesn't look as aggressive as the GX550. Hopefully there will be a heritage looking front on it. I'm guessing the overland edition of the LC will get the same 3.44 tt as the GX550. The sport version or whatever the other LC option is will get the hybrid from the Tacoma.

I agree you may be on the right path. I too played around in photoshop and finally came up with some settings that highlighted the front and rear lights. I then compared the headlight shapes to the Tri-Beam Headlights on the CarsGuide rendering (from the Plano grapevine). At first I was convinced they had to be tri-beam, like the rendering, however, the more I worked on it, different settings and zooms, you can see, what I believe are round headlight bezels and a round headlight convex protrusion.If you look at the other photo they have here:

To confirm this, I've added closeups of the CarsGuide rendering. You can see with the tri-beam headlights the upper and lower bezels are flat. On the new teaser image you can clearly see a classic chamfered headlight bezel. On the other hand, that chamfer could be a center grill section, like the FJ40 and FJ Cruiser.
If true, this would validate some of the leaks that say the international LC Prado will have the tri-beam headlights and the US LC Prado will have round, retro, 40/70 series headlights. Maybe, we actually see both, tri-beam headlights on lower trims and round headlights on the upper trims, time will tell. What do you think, confirmation bias or do you agree the images lean towards them being round headlights?

[MENTION=752738]CArunnerz[/MENTION], thanks so much for pointing that out, I've updated my image to show the differences. This confirms what I had heard on the Plano grapevine that there were multiple models/trims.
The image on the left looks like the Toyota round circle emblem that sits in the middle of the grill. I think this is the round object. The pic on the right looks identical except it's missing the round object, I think this is the heritage grill with Toyota spelled out.
Usually the round Toyota emblem seems to protrude the furthest forward on a side profile shot, especially when it acts as the sensor.

Thanks to some additional input, I've updated my images one last time until the reveal. The possible explanations get confusing, [MENTION=670391]Blackwatch[/MENTION] pointed out the darker photo may be the heritage grill with Toyota spelled out and the lighter image protrusion may be the Toyota emblem. However, the lighter image side shadows seem to me to better match the round headlight concept. Further confusing matters as far as the light vs dark images, looking at closeups of the body we get some additional new insight from [MENTION=752738]CArunnerz[/MENTION]. He pointed out the two sizes of B-C Pillar Vertical Window Splits, see my image below of them.
I then realized there are also possibly two styles of mirrors, one Square Folding Side Mirrors and the second A-Pillar Mounted Side Mirrors. I'm thinking the lighter image has the GX style side mirrors and this is what we will see on the US LC. Now the darker image with the A-Pillar Mounted Side Mirrors could be a lower trim or it could be the international Prado version. Of course, it is possible the differences may simply be due to the angle the photo or image was taken at, can't wait for the reveal in early August to find out.

If you look at the darker image on the right the tri-beam light appears to be recessed slightly from the edge of the hood or the the hood protrudes further than the tri-beam. When you look at the lighter image that light appears to be the same size but it sticks out further than the tip of the hood.
Maybe just the angle at which the picture was taken?
They must be releasing the pics next month. Usually it's within 4 weeks of these teasers.
