I haven't seen any updates from CarMaker1 since the LC250 was revealed. Hopefully he comes back with some more info.

He's gone incognito, he hasn't posted on any forum for months. He provided me with some of the insight I've posted in the past but doesn't even respond to my PM's anymore.
Perhaps someone from somewhere convinced him leaking inside information was not good for his long term career, especially since he works for an auto manufacturer.

Just saw the LC250 up close at LandCruiserFest in SLC. Really a sharp looking SUV with good execution in person. I still wish it was a bit shorter in length than it is. Like the 4Runner it has wasted space in the front end, and it’s a couple inches longer than a 5th gen. I like that it sits on 32.6” tires from factory, the next 4Runner ought to do the same. The interior is well laid out and attractive, but I do miss a manual transfer case lever and analog gauges.
Get a chance to peek in the trunk? I am wondering about the true impact of the batteries on cargo load floor and ultimately total volume.
I'm going to be in SLC in November and planning on going to the museum. is the LC250 there from here on out or was it just for the event?

I've purposely avoided searching '2024 4Runner' for the last month or so, but did one now.
Is seems that the only thing people know is that they do not know what will happen for '24.
I limited the content to only stuff in the past 30 days and there are Youtubers saying there will be NO change for '24, yet I found a DEALER website which says that nothing official has been released but the '24 most likely will be a redesign with the 4 cylinder engine etc.
Who do you believe, 'Joe Shmoe' Youtuber, the dealer site, or random articles.
Does anyone have a historical date of when MY changes are typically released for the 4R in the past?

I believe the last known survivor who was alive for the last 4Runner reveal passed in 2019. It's been so long since a new one was released, I don't think anything historical would be of much use. Every generation from 1-4 was on a 7 year cycle with a major facelift in year 3-4. We're going on year 14 now. I'd guess the earliest it could happen is a mid 2024 reveal for MY25. Probably safe to say it will not be a MY24 product without any info leaks or test mules at this point.
The earliest product release I know of for Toyota was the 2010 Lexus RX that shipped MY 2010 vehicles to dealers in May of 2009. I can't recall any example of Toyota having models in showrooms before May of the calendar year preceding the model year. There are some examples of mid-model year changes in vehicles, but not in recent memory. Only one I can think of is 1995 Tacoma update mid-year. It's unusual and unlikely. Based on that - I'd say June 2024 is the earliest we'd see a MY2025 hit the dealers, but I wouldn't hold my breath for that. It's just a bookend of the earliest we'd see them.

I have only heard of a few colour changes from the dealer. 2024 will definitely be a 5th gen. Very likely the last year as there are rumours the 6th gen is being revealed to dealers in Vegas this week.

MY2024 is carry over and should be hitting dealer lots by the end of the year I’d imagine. Per http://https://fleet.toyota.com/ftc/public/fleet/4runner.htm it’s been available since August.
MY2025 will be the redesign.

Stop searching for '2024 4Runner' and start searching for '2025 4Runner'.
Some leaks should start dripping out this week from the Toyota National Dealer Meeting, the dealers are being shown the 2025 6th gen 4Runner while they are there, as this dealers video mentions "four new models".

The 2025 Toyota 6th gen 4Runner will be revealed during Q1 2024. It will start production between July and Sep 2024 and will reach dealers between September and November 2024.

We might have a better chance of getting a 2025 4Runner before a 2024 LC250. Local dealer told me only 300 LC250s coming to Canada in 2024. Sounds a bit fishy but who knows with Toyota's issues.

I have a 2000 custom color. Going to keep for a few more years and probably buy gen 6 2028.
This is my guess for the “four new models arriving at the dealership in the next 11 months” mentioned in the video:
- 2024 Tacoma
- 2024 Land Cruiser
- 2025 Camry
- 2025 4Runner
Followed by 2025 RAV4.

FWIW I saw an add during the NFL have yesterday that included the lc250, tundra, Sequoia, 4runner, and Tacoma. I think it's a good sign 4runner is here to stay at least a little longer. I don't understand having both LC and 4R, but I don't think they'd be marketing them side by side unless they're keeping both.

On Toyota's website. I think it's the first time I've seen a 5th gen 4Runner next to or near an LC250. Stats say that the LC250 is a couple inches longer, with a 1" larger tire size, and (weirdly) slightly less ground clearance.
Will be interesting to see what the next 4Runner does. Because right now it and the LC250 are like the same size vehicle with the same demographic, other than the LC250 getting higher trim stuff like full-time 4WD as standard. I really hope the NextRunner shrinks a little, like I've said.
