Best thing you bought for under $100?

I saw this thread over on TTORA and thought it was kind of cool. Always fun to see what kind of deals people find.

I got a 3rd gen sport hood, set of taillights, silver grille and a set of Hella Supertones all for $100. Pretty pumped off that buy. I also got a set of 5 Star rims for $80. Six Toyota spark plugs, upper & lower radiator hoses, oil filter and two head rests for $25.

Damn dude, what a steal. I got a toytec 1" front spacer and two Hella 500's for under $100. It just hasn't arrived yet!

Best $100 Ever Spent


The best $100 I ever spent was probably on my Blue Parrott Bluetooth headset. As a trucker, I needed something that was comfortable (though it looks a bit goofy), lightweight and allowed a lot of talk time before needing a recharge.

I hate trying to drive with a cell phone stuck next to my ear - especially in a big rig, so this thing really sealed the deal for me. I bought the B-250 model, which is my second one from them. It is a huge improvement over the old one (which was still very good).

The B-250 headset offers ten hours (or more) of continuous talk time, two days of 'standby' time, adjustable volume/gain control, excellent noise suppression, 50-foot range (so you can leave your cell phone hooked to the truck's 12v outlet) that allows you to exit the cab for fueling & checking tires; a comfortable foam earpiece and an adjustable foam-covered microphone. My headset has excellent noise suppression, so that I don't sound as though I am standing next to Niagara Falls when I have a conversation.

I was garage saling with my fiance and picked up two Paradigm Phantom v3 tower speakers (retail $600), a Paradigm PRD-12 v3 subwoofer with plate amp (retail $430), an Integra DTR-5.3 reciever (retail $600), with the assorted cables to hook them all up for....

Obviously the retail prices are from a few years ago but still... All of this gear works perfectly.

I was talking with the guy selling it and I guess he got it in the divorce but had no idea how to hook any of it up and just wanted some cash for it. He already had someone look at it but shot him down at $45 so I offered him what I had in my wallet. $30 and it was mine. :wow:

Sony MDR-EX500LP earbuds for my Ipod. I have bought a few of earbuds for my Ipod within the past year (including the highly rated Klipsch S4), but the Sony is the best of them all.

EDIT: after burning in the Klipsch S4, i am really impress with them. So, i am editing this...S4 is now the best earbuds for me.

Pyramid 400 watt 8 inch sub, supplies for a sealed box, and a Dual XPE 400 watt amp. It wont blast the car next to you, but its perfect for some boom with music or movies. 22$ sub, 55$ amp, and 20$ for supplies and 4ga wire.

In 1998 I bought a 1987 Oldsmobile Cutlas Ciera for $5, my first car.

This dealership was advertising a big inventory blowout sale. What you had to do was go to a lot with the cars and jump in the front seat while a dealer walked around and slashed prices on the cars. I went the night before and stood in line all night, I was like 5th in line. Good thing was eveyone in front of me was old and slow. So when the gates opened I breezed by everyone and jumped in the poopiest looking car I could find. Every car in the lot was guranteed to pass inspection.

What a piece of crap that car was, but oh well, it served it's purpose for quite awhile.

Soon the best 100 bucks I will ever spend will be Modern Warfare 3.
