You mean when you first start to pour fuel out of them they splash? That hasn’t been my experience. Do you fill them above the line? Do you use the Wavian spout?

if u get the legit scepter military fuel cans, the spouts dont fit inside the can.
I didn't know that! I watched a video of the wavian cans and it looked like the spout was not inside the can.

only applies to the scepter military fuel cans. I don't know about the nanny-state handicap scepter versions they sell in the communist states.

Thanks for the info! most of them seem to have some clip on spout that clips to the handle when not in use. Thought I could see those catching tons of dirt etc

also u "might" need a scepter fuel can wrench...lol.
i mean u probably can get away with not having one, but like other posters mentioned....under altitude changes, the lid might not want to open, or leak if you don't.
just be careful what u buy, the water wrenches and the fuel wrenches are completely different. i have both, but rarely carry the water wrench, i don't care if water leaks that much, so i just hand tighten it. For fuel though, i crank it down.
I also throw the wrench in my trasharoo when transporting lol.
a bunch of 5 and 2.5 gallon water scepters and a 5 gallon fuel scepter and rotopax. Fuel wrench in photo and i keep it that way so i dont lose it during storage. The rotopax, has a internal storing fuel funnel thingy.

The wrench is a must have. Never used one (don't even have one) for water, but for the fuel cans...yep.

The spout clips onto the Wavian can. I secure it with a breakaway zip tie, the type that secures the pin to a fire extinguisher.

Also why i love scepter water cans because you can fit a 15 dollar water pump vs. paying retarded prices for a dometic water can and pump.

I did the exact same thing on my $20 7 gallon Reliance water jug. It does require a smidgen of modification with a file to get it to fit. Mine fits ok. It isn’t horrible, but it’s a bit of a pain. It’s a great way to get water, but it is very slow.
I keep the original lid on it and when I get into camp, I take out the spare lid+pump contraption and screw it on. That way, it stays clean.
Next modification might be to glue it in place. We’ll see how it goes on the next camp trip.

its friction fit so its snug. its not loose at all. No mods needed for the scepter's. USB rechargeable.
It lasted a 5 day disperse camping trip with no need to recharge (lots of juice left) and left it out in the elements. Although, i didn't drive around with it mounted on the can. I leave it in the drawer until i get to camp. Hose is long enough to drain the entire can.
I might buy a 2nd one for the 2.5 gallon scepter, which i typically leave either behind my driver seat or in the passenger seat footwell. I'll probably leave that mounted on their 24/7 while road tripping, camping, offroading, etc.
I dunno if there is a "better" manufacture, i just bought the cheapest one to test out.

yeah its slow, but its okay for dishes, washing faces, your hair, hands, and drinking. I like it cuz its somewhat hands free for things like dishes.
Only thing you can't do is shower...lol.
On par with dometic....fraction of the cost.

+1,000 on the cheaper route! That’s been the biggest hurdle with a lot of these things.
Another option is to make a battery or 12v DC powered pump. It involves dropping a pump down into the water jug and making the plumbing and electrical from scratch. If you’re handy like that or enjoy DIY tasks, no biggie. Overland Bound did one on his Sceptre jug. Looks neat but not hands free.

I've got one of those USB rechargeable pumps for water too. It fits nice and snug in the opening of the Scepter water where the little cap screws off. They're great and well worth the $15 on Amazon.

I should have clarified I don't use the spout that came with the can. (It's awful anyway) I use a flexible non carb compliant spout. When you tip the can up to begin filling some fuel always leaks out the air hole until it gets started.
