Best Way To Get ~ 2" of lift?

So maybe I should just leave the whole thing alone, get some spacers for the rear to level it back out/get some rake to it, and remove those extra long bump stops in the back and get the conical ones from a junk yard. All of that sound good?

Sound like a good cheep way to start and see what you think One thing to remember is I think all OEM Toyota springs are marked with colored dots So clean them up and see what you got . also look at the top of the rear spring see if it looks like OME or if it looks like the OEM. Here is OEM the dirty one.

and OME you have seen on toytec site. the top of the spring the coils are close together.

I would start by just removing the bump stops and see if it improves and I agree the cones would be good to get. You may or may not need new coils, it's hard to tell over the net. I'm really just guessing (with a little knowledge behind it), but when I saw your long bump stops I figured that was your main issue. I also think it's unlikely that someone would spend the $$ on expensive OME shocks but leave the old OEM coils in there. What year is your truck?

:iagree: I am just trying to help you figure out what you do have. Cause you never know what people will do.

Yeah I agree that it's unlikely that someone would just smack those shocks on there... So you just think the OME shocks have sagged...and what is the point of those extra long bump stops?

It's a 96, Thats in the picture in my sig...Is it not showing up for you guys?

I know and understand...I'm trying to figure it out too...here I am thinking I just have a shot suspension on a regular 4Runner and come to find it probably has a full suspension lift and diff drop already installed:boink:

Oh I'm sorry, I was too distracted by the cool pic to actually read it. Duurrrr. The long bump stops could be useful if you had a lot larger lift, but they are severely limiting your suspension as it is now.

I guess they'd help if you had some huge tires to prevent them from rubbing inside the wheel well?

Here's another pic of the way she sits now:

Looks lifted to me. Not quite 3"...so it probably is the 880/906 combo. Or, something.

That's what I'm thinking too.

Does anyone have a pic of their diff drop installed? I need to check mine to see if it's been installed but I don't have a reference.

The dirty one is the '99 tall right?

I don't have a pic, but the ends of the arms coming off the front diff are ~2"+ thick and have a rubber bushing that sticks up another .25" or so out of both the top and bottom. If there is another 1" cylindrical piece of steel above the arms/bushings then you have a diff drop.

I'll take the skids off tonight when I get off work and take a pic. That would explain alot if there is a drop, because if there is one, then it for sure has the full OME lift including springs.

Ideal setup for the "cheap" 3.5" in ToyTec OME lift:

881 / Top plate spacers w/ OME Standard Shocks in the front

906 / 10mm(maybe x2) OME trim packers w/ OME Standard Shocks in rear

Thanks Brian for all your help...I see that spacer and I just looked under it just now and there's no diff drop... I'm guessing it has worn out 881s or just 880s...
