Betty, the '90 3.0L

So, Check this out. I bought a 1990 T4R on monday for $2100. That's great, I know, but along with a pretty awesome ride, came a pretty awesome conglomeration of problems. Firstly, the O2 sensor was bad, so I went a head and ordered another Denso one and replaced it. At the same time, I went ahead and bought a new fuel filter. That's where I hit my first road block. Turns out, the nut on the fuel line that threads into the forward end of the filter is stripped all to hell. Sweet... Normally, if it were anything other than the fuel line, I'd have taken vice grips to the little sucker and gotten it off one way or another, but seeing as how I don't want to risk breaking my fuel line, I'm going to have to take it into a shop and have them do it, therefore, if/when they break it, they have to replace it. Ha! Take that crappy mechanics that try to screw you over! Anyway, on top of that, it's been about 6000 miles since the last oil change and it was low even when I read it hot. Woo! And I'm not too sure about this, but I swear I can hear some sort of liquid running through a line every time I push the accelerator, that's what prompted me to try to change the fuel filter cause it sounded pretty rough. If it's not there, then I'm going to get a new fuel pump. On top of all of that, it's in sore need of a new air filter, a coolant flush, new spark plugs, and a transmission flush to boot. Now you might think I'm sitting here complaining, but what you don't know is that I have a huge grin on my face. I can't wait until tomorrow when I get off work and get to come home and work on Betty. Oh, that's what I've named her by the way, just in case you didn't pick up on it. Anything you guys can think of that might help me get a little more fuel economy out of my 3.Slow would be awesome too. Thanks for baring with me through my little rant. Be easy.

It's always nice to get home from work and go back to work... It's actually not bad if you get to work on your own projects.

And all the problems... it just means that when you get done working on the truck then you'll know all the little glitches in it and get to know betty better.

So, I changed the oil with Mobil-1 10w-30 full synthetic and put a K&N oil filter on, did a transmisison drain and refill, put a new Denso O2 sensor in, and swapped the old air filter with a new K&N one. I think I'm going to do the ISR mod this week sometime and do a coolant flush. Even though it looks like it's full, it could probably use a refresher. There are a couple vaccume lines that look like they're starting to wear out too. Next paycheck comes a new OEM cat and and I'm thinking a full cat-back because my muffler and pipes are looking pretty rough. I'd do the headers but it's just too expensive ATM. :dammit: Anyway, does anybody in San Diego know of a good place to get the engine bay sprayed out? There's a lot of build up on the block that I want to get cleaned up and hopefully that'll help me keep my temps down. OH! And I almost forgot this, but my stereo overheated yesterday and I don't know why. I'm thinking that it was the deck's fault and not anything to do with anything behind the dash. I was running a CD and all of a sudden it just turned off, and now it won't come on at all. My fuse is fine, I checked it. I think it just fried my deck. I'm ok with it though, I needed an excuse to rip that one out anyway cause when I bought the truck, the guy who sold it to me said his buddy did something when putting in the deck and now the dash lights don't work at all and I've got a better one to put in.
