I noticed that you put the "hooks" that come with the slider to the factory mounting points, but in this youtube video, those seem to be meant for the slider frame instead..... (take a look at 29sec): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TBbF8DqwF_o
 
Straps relocated per dvd and instructions. The tray is much more secure, but I still won't be using it as a seat while extended. Pictures of installation have been updated. It is secure enough now I may not worry about using hardware on the front section. Time will tell.

Thanks for the catch [MENTION=119516]jicko[/MENTION]. As for your 3rd row question I really don't know what to tell you if you don't have those front anchor points.

I do have 4 anchor points, they are just not the same places as trucks without the 3rd row seats. I also think that they maybe of different size and constructions. Mine are flip downs.

The deck itself measures 40" W x 35 1/2" deep.

There are 2 outward facing bolts on each side near the corners. These hold the drawer rails in place. If needed as anchor points the nuts could be removed and a longer screw could be used to add an anchor bracket. This is IF someone decided to bolt it down. There are also floor plates front and rear that run crosswise that could be used for the same purpose.

With the front rail removed the deck is approximately 2" above the plane of the laid down 2nd row seats, so I don't know if it could comfortably be used as a mattress base or not.
 
3 days and a little over 800 miles into my trip, and it has been quiet as a dormouse. No problems so far and the straps are staying tight.

Post some pic of your trip as well as your gear in the back.... with the slide out.... heh hee.... quite a lot to ask!! :lmao:
 
I had reason to use it today. It was much easier getting at my GoPro box which is stowed on the left front of the tray. I just slid it out and stood by the left taillight to get at the box. I have a cabin tent, cot, Kelty tarp in a bag, hanging and bagged clothes, and various storage boxes stowed on the folded down 2nd row seat right now. It all stays put when I slide the tray out. And the tray has been rattle free for 1200 miles so far. The heaviest item you see on there is the tool box on the right front. I prefer to keep the heavier items forward on the tray to reduce strain on the forward tie down straps.

just got my cargo slide and installed it however i'm getting a squeak when i go over bumps. I'm not sure if its the strap or the cargo slide.

I did notice that the slide rail didn't have much grease on it, it was dry and a lot of dust. It wasn't smooth sliding the tray out either. I'm going to try and grease it up with lithium grease to see if it solve the noise.

other than that, great product.
 
I lubed mine with some spray oil, but I do intend to use white lithium grease eventually. You might need to adjust your latch. It's a simple lock nut and screw it out a couple turns until it just snugs up nicely. Might take a couple tries until you're satisfied. I'm 6,000 miles into my road trip and mine is still quiet, including about 17 miles of moderate trail today with a bunch of stuff stacked on it.
 
thanks...yeah i found the squeak, it was the tray. Just put some grease on the rails and its all good now :)
 
cj you are also correct, adjusting the latch worked as well since there was some noise coming from that as well. Thank you for the suggestion!!

I need something similar (or a slider) for my ARB fridge, but couldn't seems to find anything that doesn't require perm installation (to body) that doesn't really work with the 3rd row seat's back.

This looks promising. I just don't know how the mounting points will work.

Sorry to hijack this thread, but I stumbled upon it when researching a slide out tray for our 2016 with 3rd row. I've decided to go ahead and make one (will be for sale) and will be reporting back. The useable space will be 40 5/8 x 36 1/8, and it will be full extension lock in and out. Just another option for anyone else looking for the same thing.

I'm sure it will work with non-3rd row seat models with some slight alterations.
