BFG KO2 or Cooper AT3 275-70-17?

I'm near the end of life on my AT3s. They were pretty darn good. Never had any real problems with them. Not great in snow/ice, but not a dedicated snow tire. Never got stuck. Just kept it steady.
They got a little noisy towards the 2nd half of their life. Not a hum, but a whump whump - like a bad bearing kind of noise. Some weird wear, but that could be my truck. It's got 165k miles now.
However, I'm actually going to try Falken AT3Ws this time. Primarily because they have a little higher load rating as an XL 116T load rating tire - and I pull a pop up camper that usually sits between 2800 - 3100 pounds. Again, never had a problem with the Coopers - and I used them to tow my camper from Denver to San Diego and back. Also down to SE Missouri and back.
The Falkens are Snow Service rated (they have that little snowflake symbol). Not sure how much difference it will make. DT will install them for me for about $680 out the door (price matching).
You can get a good deal on Coopers AT3s right now. Sears has them for $119 each. Discount Tire price matched me on a pair. Plus Cooper has a $70 rebate. That's about $588 for the tires up front. Then $70 back via Cooper and if you have a Discount Tire card you can get a $30 rebate from them. That's a set of Coopers for under $500. Really hard to beat. I can't see the BFG TA KO2s being worth almost double (a set of 4 at DT is about $966 where I am).
But, BFG TA KO2s are supposedly really good tires.
Can't answer your question, but that's my experience with Coopers and a way to get the best price on them. The rebate came out after I had DT special order the Falkens for me or I may have opted to save the ~$200 but I like the extra load rating. Anyhow, there's my personal dilemma.

I'll be getting 255/75-17 the next time around; currently on my second set of Cooper AT3 in the 265/70-17 size. The 255/75 should fit better in the spare location than the 275/70 you mentioned, which is nice if you do five tire rotations (I do).
I've never had BFG KOs, but have always been very pleased with the rain, snow, and light Arkansas clay / mud traction on the AT3. I've considered the Cooper ST Maxx, but it might be overkill for my use.
I have Cooper ATP 285/70-17 on mine (e-rated) and I've been very happy with them. Probably put 15k of road trips/towing on them through all sorts of conditions and have had zero problems, with great traction in dry/wet/snow.
I've not taken it in very difficult offroad conditions, but have been in milder offroad trails (mountain passes, dirt logging roads and such) and they've held up well.
Can't comment vs KO2's, but my Cooper experience has been good.
Is there a reason you're considering something other than ATP's this time?

No 275-70 or 255-75 in the ATP. Good tire and Never any Balance issues.

i've really liked my AT3s so far, my only gripe is they don't have a very beefy sidewall. got a nice slash on one after only 5K miles. the KO2 sidewall would have probably held up. america's tire got me a new tire for $82 and included the 4-tire warranty in that price since i didn't buy it before. having said that, this 2014 expedition portal article is what sold me on the AT3s, but this was written before KO2s were around.

I just picked up some K0 2s with the snowflake rating on them and they are super quiet on the road I am quite surprised

I don't have any experience with 275-70's, but I LOVE the 255-75 size for the height, and it they don't negatively impact MPG's like a 265-70 comparatively.
I chose the 255's after being honest with myself about the *real use* I will put my truck through. I wanted sexy giant tires, but couldn't justify it with it being my DD and not actually crawling and swamping.
I hope this helps! Tires can be a tough choice.
I can't speak for the 255-75, but here are some pictures of my 275-70 KO2's. They are great so far. I had some slight rubbing on the mud flaps and liner in the front, but a little heat gun action took care of it.

Love my k02s, 275/70/17 and fits in spare tire well fully inflated.
The coopers are great mild a/t tires , the KO2s are bullit proof , as tough as they come, my opinion at the other end of the a/t family of tires scale. I asked my self the same question, but I was leaning towards the pro comp a/t sport, went to my local 4Wheelparts.com store to buy and he talked me into toyo open country 2 265/70/16 , I have had them all over Colorado from deep snow to sharp bowling ball size rocks running 18 psi and cruzed over all of it, they still look new .
