BFG Vs Nitto,

To me, "bling" is something chrome...usually something big, gaudy, and chrome. The lightning bolt pattens on the sidewall of Nittos isn't bling in any sense of the word as far as I'm concerned.

But if there's one thing I know from reading this forum, it is that it's impossible to argue with Thai. So if he thinks it's bling, then it must be bling. :bigok:

Bling for me is something that is there for no apparent reason other than it being decorative/showy (sp?)...ya know, kinda like Josh's truck! Is that wrong?

A good percent of tires have patterns on them that could be considered "bling." That's just Thai going on his rant against Nitto's. He really hates them especially when people put them in the same category as BFG's (Which is becoming a more frequent comparison lately as Nitto is becoming one of BFG's biggest competitors).

Frankly, i disagree...show me where i have stated something about the Nittos that is not true?? You and RonM have not come up with anything! I am pretty impartial when it comes to tires. My point is that for on-road purposes, there are better tires than Nittos TG. For off-road purposes, there are better tires than Nittos TG. For dual purposes, there are better choices than Nittos TG. So, why would i honestly recommend Nittos as a #1 choice to a member of this forum?? I have listed them in the past as the top 5 tires, but it would not be my first choice.

Thai,you state opinions and I state opinions from our experiences but you and I like to argue between Nittos and BFGs primarily and there's nothing on the net that truly proves one is better than the other unless we get a direct comparison test under relatively controlled conditions which I'm dying to see but no truck rag has done one yet.

I think people can read from our experiences and decide for themselves and that's what is great about this forum since it's good to have more than one point of view.

I only favor the Nittos because of what I've experienced with them over 4 years and 45k miles and the previous several sets and well over 100k I've driven on BFGs. I'm one of the few people that has driven this long on TGs that frequents this board and I like to think people respect my opinion as I do your's.

I alike don't say anything that isn't true about BFGs and I always give them the cred they deserve when it comes to off roading and I don't say anything that isn't true about the Nittos. I simply know what has worked for me and share it just like you do.

I feel whatever tire floats your boat and what works for your needs and your budget. I may just put a different set on my FJ rims when they go on. I will stay with a P rated most likely since they have handled all my needs so far I would like something more aggressive so maybe I'll try the Nitto TG , not sure but for people who have run them like Josh and Ron off road and had good success with why not.

One of the big factors in these conversations is if you truck is a DD or a weekend trail / fun plaything. I think that makes a huge difference in why tires people choose (even if they go off road) , as well go with how far you want to trick it out and lift it or suspension components , ect....

My truck is anything but "bling." You should be more respectful of others' vehicles.

True, but you and Josh have accused me of being bias against Nittos in the past...i am not.
