I just love the aggressive look that this tire gives..
Also, I think it's much better than the stock Nitto tires. Better traction and less road noise. When I turn sharp, Nitto used to make tire noise but KO2s don't. Anyways, keep on modding. =)

I know I'm probably in the minority here. I've got the KO2s on my current ride and yes, they are quiet on road, good off road but here in Chicago, they stink in cold, wet weather, they slide like hitting black ice when there is none! They are ok in rain when its warm, I guess the compound in the tire stiffens up when cold.

Chicago is crazy. So cold!!! I don’t know how people work outside during the winter time! =) I thought about that because I work outside most of my time working. Haha

I like my KO2’s. I’ve got almost 55K in them and still decent amount of tread left. Aired down, they’re great off road for an AT tire. I’ll be buying them again. Will admit with 30% tread life left, they’re not as good in the snow, but that’s why I have 4X4.

This isn't the first time I've heard this, which is surprising because the KO2 carries the severe weather mountain/snowflake symbol (not just M+S rating).

The disappointing thing is that these tires used to be great in the snow. I haven't had a new set of these in years - since before they got the "KO2" designation and were just "All-Terrain" . I had no truck just a car for several years. Last time I had them though they were great in all conditions.

I just recently put BFG KO2 285/70/R17 LRC on my 5th gen. Specifically asked for white lettering out. When I picked up the truck they had told me that these particular ones dont come with the white raised lettering and BFG does some weird sh!t like this all the time. Im I dealing with a bunch of fools here or does his statement hold any water?

There must be something different with order codes or something. My 265s came white letter, but a buddy’s 265s were all black. Wonder what the difference is?

I’ve got over 70K on mine and they are do for replacement. Great all around tire but I agree that they are not the best in snow but with 4 wheel drive, good enough. I had great success with them when aired down and off road. I’m really leaning to using them again in a few weeks when I replace them. Mine were the 275’s and were available at the time, 3.5 years ago in either black wall or raised white letters out.

According to the Discount Tire website, the load range C tires without raised white letters on one side are a Chrysler OEM spec tire.

Recently I replaced the OEM tires on my ‘18 SR5 for BFG AT/KO2’s. LT265/70R17, Load Range E.

This is my first set of KO2’s. In the past I’ve run five sets of BFG AT’s on my two previous 4x4 trucks and have been very pleased. Good traction in everything but mud. Good road NVH. Good wear. Rugged. I assume these will be similar.

Had them for 25k miles and have a hard time understanding the hype with these tires unless you drive off-road for a significant portion of your commute/life.

That is true in most cases, but there are also sizes which are available with black sidewalls on both sides.

Are the BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2’s that good? Are they noisy on the pavement? Will they decrease gas mileage and use up more energy?

I have a 2013 Toyota 4Runner and need new tires. I have winter rims and tires and just want a tire good for towing 5,000 lbs and able to pull the trailer up out of sand, mud and gravel while being able to explore off road a bit.

Is the KO2 the tire for me or should I consider:

- Bridgestone Dueler AT REVO 3
- Pirelli Scorpion All Terrrain Plus
- Michelin A/T2
- Others

I put on some Firestone Destination A/T2 due to being on a tight timeline and could not find a replacement for my Goodyear. It might meet your needs, I was impressed with how quiet it was and had good grip off-road. I heard good things on the forum, that is why I picked them compared to what was in stock. Only switching back b/c I like the aggressive look of the Goodyear.

Which Goodyear do you have and how do you like them?

Wrangler DuraTrac. They came stock. I like them on and off-road, and how light they are. They do squeal on tight turns though.
I feel there are better options for rain. They do well and keep the 4Runner controllable, just something feels slightly off compared to the Toyo Open Country I had, like one or two of the wheels are slipping. But it might just be my alignment.
