Big Wind Heads to Northern California

You guys are insane if you drive up in this mess. I have a timeshare booked for this weekend from a while back to do some riding, but i am not going to make it due to the weather. They are projecting 80-100mph wind gusts over the summit. There will be white out conditions all through the weekend. I was all planned to bring 4 sets of chains and a shovel, but i am too concerned with the other idiots driving minivans and 2 wheel drive cars or wost of all 4x4's with highway tires who think that is adequate.
IF the winds die down i will head up, but otherwise i will be parking at home. I have seen too many cars lose control near me in much milder conditions to take my truck out in that mess.
Otherwise i am up at Sierra every weekend. Hit me up if anyone else wants to go ride.

Do we have a plan for Friday yet?
Its raining like hell over here in EDH right now, 4.30pm thursday, I am guessing its snowing just up the hill above me towards placerville, pollock pines etc
At this point my day is pretty open, I think I can get away for a few hours for a drive/coffee whatever..

Is currently unavailable for maintenance....
Unreal, weve got the biggest storm in 50 years happening and the weather radar is out for maintenance, who is organizing this, politicians?

I'm with you man... I was planning to go up, this weekend is suppose to be move-in day for me to the cabin. I was debating on going up earlier this week, but with the warnings and advisories, I'll wait. It's the others around me that I'm worried about.
Where do you ride at? I'm at Northstar and probably will be there every weekend outside of blackouts and crazy weather like this.

deng, it's 1am and i can already hear the wind blows so crazy outside my windows now... can't imagine how bad it's gonna be tomorrow when i wake up....
the trash bin and recycle bin are already felt on the curb (they are topped with full of garbage already, i thought it would be heavy enough to stand but guess not)

2am here now, windy as all get out, its whistling thru parts of my roof and theres a tree in front of the house that needs trimming, banging on the front gutter, even my dog cannot sleep its so loud, and that lazyass can sleep thru anything
there saying wind gusts over 50mph by 5am, it feels like that now
oh well
least my trash was yesterday, so I dont have that problem
