People say 32's and then mention 265/75-16 but isn't that is a 31.6" tire?
What about 285/75-16s - pinch weld mod or nah?

32PSI is the recommended pressure for 16" 265/70/16

HECK YEAH!The optimal tire size for a stock truck is 285/40/24.

I'm looking for a set of 17 Sequoia Rims, but if I decide against that I have been eyeing the Falken Wildpeak MT01 All Terrain Radial Tire in 265/75R16 with a 123Q rating
32" x 11" with a more aggressive tread for offroad use. 4 for about $720 free shipping and no tax

Anyone running these, how are their road manners, specifically highway?
I had them on my 02, they have very good road manners. Play with the psi for your liking, i ran 38 front 34 rear, great tire in my opinion.
What are you running now?

I have 285's with relatively little invested to fit -
- 1" BL (made myself, have machine shop in the garage)
- $60 highlander springs
- BFH to flatten the pinch weld
I have GY duratracs. The side lugs will rub the frame at full steering lock. The fronts will also rub off road at certain articualtion and steering angles. I've been driving the 4runner with the above setup for nearly 5 years now. If you know the shortcomings and don't intend to hardcore wheel it, it's fine.
$60 highlander springs :jaw: got link?![]()
Any ideas on putting 265/17 R16 tires on 16x8 steelies for an '01 SR5?
I currently run the same tire size on the stock 5-spokes that are 16x7 - no rub whatsoever with the current Mickey Thompson STZs.
265/17 R16?? or 265/70/17?
I messed up....I currently run 265/75 R16 on the stock 16x7 5-spokes.
Looking to bump up to 16x8 wheels w/ the same tire size.
I'm no expert but I think it will fit. I run a 285/70/17 on a 17x8 with minimal trimming.
Here is what they look like. These wheels have 4.5" backspacingThat's good to know. Just did the math and our current tires arent to far off from eachother.
285s are 11.22" wide x 7.85" tall (sidewall) on yours
265s are 10.43" wide x 7.82" tall (sidewall) on mine
My main concern is having the wider wheel at 8" w/ the 4.25" BS.
Should be OK since I think I read the stock 16x7" 5-spoke run a 4.625" BS. That doesn't sound like a huge change to cause major problems. Little rubbing is OK since its not my DD.
Thanks for the info! Huge help.
