Hi, just wondering what the largest size tires I can put on my stock 2000 t4r sr5? right now it has firestone destination a/t 265/ 70r16. I can't afford new rims, but I think I can swing bigger tires. thanks.

Biggest tire on a stock suspension = 265/75/16.

thanks for the quick reply.... do you know off hand what the numbers stand for? i.e., how much change will I see in the 75r16 vs the 70r16?
nice Sig, btw. i thought about the sig but ended up with a glock.

Well, since you chose the Glock, i will not respond to you.

Just kidding. 265/75/16 tire will be TALLER...it will add 0.5" of ground clearance to your truck (if everything else being equal). Width of tire will be same. Your speedometer will be slightly off...but not so much that you need to do anything about.

265 = width of tire
75 = height = 75 % of the width
16 = your rim size...that is, this tire will fit on a 16" rim

Hope this helps.

Thai,

I'm a Glock shooter too.

But it's been asleep for a very long time now. It needs to come out to play.

hey, thanks, guys....
don't you think glock is like the toyota of the handgun world? and benelli is the toyota of the shotgun world? i always thought sigs were kind of like BMWs?

Don't you mean LEXUS of handguns?? Sigs are just as reliable, but just more luxurious to hold! :D

BTW, i have a G26 too...but i carry the Sig P239 daily.

nahh MY stock tires were 225/70R15 or some bullshit like that hah! what a joke

Yeah, some came with the 15" wheels, but most of the 4WD's I've seen had the 16" wheels and the 31" tires. But yeah, those 225/75/15's are tiny!

hey hey hey, i'm still cruising on 225/75/15's hahaha.

so i was wondering. since i dont have the cash to get rims but i can still get new tires, which tires would get better mpg 235/85/15 or something like 265/75/15?

the 235 are a lot thinner so wouldnt that mean less drag cause there would be less rubber in contact with the rode?

I have 2wd and so i dont go wheeling much, i'm in it for the practicality of my 4r and the mpg. lol.

any advice would be nice. thanks. =)
