Just got back from Wheeltober fest down near Marble Falls TX. Had a blast and the park was amazing. Here are a few pics from the weekend......





The rear deck I made has become a great pull out work table/cook table. I actually ended up using my dual burner coleman stove on it with the rear window rolled down. Worked great.

Right on good build so far! I'm really diggin that cargo area you created. I would like something like that but I prefer to use the rear as my tent. You should definitely paint your rear bumper to match the front, would pull it all together!

Installed new adjustable Rear LCA's today. Factory setup was kind of bent up. Props to Toytec for the beefy build definitely will not be bending these. I do have a little concern of the location of the zerk fittings as it relates to the axle (right at 1/8" of clearance). Going wheeling/camping next weekend, so ill let you know if i run into any problems.

Little update on the build, I pulled the plasti-dip off the rims, plan on going back to black but want to actually paint them. didnt care much for the plasti-dip, seemed to stain that i couldnt even power wash off. Will paint once temps get back up in the 70's regularly. Also threw on some clear corners.

Installed a Ironman 9500# winch. What sold me on this is the 3yr warranty, wireless remote & wired remote, price point. Plan on going to the synthetic line soon. need to grab some skid plates soon leaning to the Savage, simply due to the ease on the oil change.

Thanks man!! Skid plates then a rear bumper. Waiting to see what ODL comes up with for the rear. Definitely getting a tire carrier. Really like the new one addicted has put together. That thing is sweet.

Well guys i am in need of some advice. It appears this weekend I broke a tooth (or two) off my front gears and to stay on the safe side had the rig towed back to DFW from the Toyota Lonestar Jamboree at BMRA (east texas). Luckily my good friend was able to lend a hand with the towing and i drove his rig back to town. BIG THANKS THERE MAN.



So I plan on dumping the diff fluid out of the front and see what all falls out, there is a heavy clunking noise in 2wd and 4wd so that leads me to believe there are some teeth missing. I have already talked to a local shop and they are working up some numbers to regear front and rear and add a ARB w/ compressor. Gear wise i am looking at nitro 4:56's and 4:88's. Id be interested to hear what your experiences are and if you are wishing you had done something else. I have read [MENTION=47945]brian2sun[/MENTION] comments on the 4:88's he has on 35's but I never plan to go with that big of tire selection.

I do plan on continuing my front skids to belly pan and adding a gas tank skid as well as a tire carrier rear bumper. I do take trips to NM and CO, so i need to be able to handle the hwy travel with a trailer as I would like to build a overland trailer with tent. It is not my daily driver.

Get 4.88's man. I have 4.88's front and rear, and they are great with 33's. I have full armor, and the truck still has some pickup. My muffler is a loud Cherry Bomb one that is tucked up into the rear bumper. It is loud on the highway, but it's not too bad. Put it this way, I did a cross country trip (trip report coming soon) with it and was just fine. Could still sleep in the back.

Well it appears I have chewed about half of the teeth off my front Pinion Gear.



Getting the truck regeared with Nitro 4:88's and Dual ARB Air Lockers.......STOKED!

Also i do believe I am going to yank the diff drop off the front end and stretch the CV boots out so they dont rub. I have no idea if this is what caused the problem, but the thought has been making me rethink the application.

Just got the truck back from the offroad shop.
New Nitro 4:88's gearing and ARB Air Lockers Front & Rear
I cant wait to get these things broken in so I can get back out on the dirt!
I will probably re fit the switches with a 3 slot OTRATTW switch cluster just to clean things up.

What an upgrade! Thats awesome dude, regarding TOTH, i know its early but how many trucks you think are coming from your area? Anyone else from the board?

BIG TIME UPGRADE!! Being an '02 the only thing i had was the center diff lock, which is great for driving on slick roads but doesnt do much offroad (though it has gotten me through a couple of spots). Rolling on the 33's i can already feel a huge difference in the new gearing. Cant wait to try out the new lockers!

Yeah, I think there will be 4 trucks min, myself included, coming from central texas, possibly more. As far as the board do you mean this forum? There is one guy [MENTION=62256]Photogdog[/MENTION] but he doesnt frequent this forum much. He has a 4th gen and seems to stay on the toyota120 mostly. The other guys coming have FJ's.

Wow that's a pretty gnarly upgrade.. Don't even want to think about how much that cost ya lol. Stay off the skinny pedal, it's easy to snap cv axles with that arb! Btw, don't forget about your break in period just in case the guys at the shop didn't tell you.

Cost, yeah i'm still trying to choke that one down. But the shop made me a deal with everything I was putting on, and even found me a deal on a front locker, which i was not going to do because cost was so high.

I have done my fair share of research on it, and now i can relax that skinny pedal a bit and just crawl up stuff. Also been reading up on the gear break in do'es and don'ts. The owner at Baertrax (offroad shop that did the work) does tons of yota and jeep gear work, and made sure i understood the break in process.
