what will happen if you set the fron to 2.5 raised on stock springs? will it blow the shocks out prematurely?

i am getting 5100's all the way around and need 2.5 lift on the front. with stock springs can i do this? or should i put a daystar in the front until i get better springs?

You can run the shocks set on 2.5, that is the highest setting. Running it at 2.5 then adding a spacer or taller coils too could potentially hurt the shock. I have mine set at 2.5" right now and it's fine. It will probably be too high in the front with 2.5" setting though.

I had FJ springs in the back which provide .25-.5" of lift and the front was still higher after the 2.5" setting. I added SAW 1.5" coils in the back and now the back is higher but I think it would be much higher with stock rear coils.

It will not blow the shocks prematurely.

With the 2.5 setting you will end up with more than a 2.5" lift. If you want a leveled look and do not plan on lifting the rear. I suggest you use the 2nd or 3rd setting. The 3rd setting will be about a 2.5" lift. If you tow or carry a lot of cargo you can install airbags in the rear coils or you may want to set it to the 2nd setting for about a 1.5" lift.

thanks for the responses, i always thought the lift came from the springs and not the shocks, i'll try the 3rd setting probably. I have stock rear air suspension on the limited and i found out how to lift it just on the bags about 1-1.5"
