Bilstein 5100 - 0.85 or 1.75? Pics?

How is the ride compared to stock? I'm going to put on 5100s and reuse the coils.

The shocks are awesome. I installed MOOG FJ coils along with them and set them to .85" setting. Riding very solid now and also retained the RAS. Love going over speed humps now at speed :)

Sorry for the late reply...
My RAS system ended up failing and I did the conversion over to coils in the rear. I used FJ Moog coils all around. The rear sits slightly higher but the line sof the truck look well and it levels out when I have the 4R loaded down or towing.

1.75" setting here. Factory coils front and rear. Sits with 1/2" or so of rake, but can only tell with a tape measure. Looks like it sits almost exactly level when looking from the side.

What? No love for the 1.75 setting? Here's my V6 on fj springs, no spacers, so slight rake to the rear.

At this point I'm just posing..

Why is it that these photos are blurry? I have seen this on many DIY posts, and it makes them almost impossible to follow, as you can't actually see the detail. What gives?

Because Photo Bucket got greedy about a year ago and started charging an outrageous fee for their photo hosting, if you don't pay you only get blurry photos!

Thread needs measurement data, axle angle photos

I've noticed in plowing through this thread that photos and discussions seem largely to omit important measurement information at the various shock adjustment settings noted in the posts. Also largely missing are photos and discussion of CV axle angles at the various settings, which is important.

It's not solely about the look, but also about functionality. So ... I would like to suggest including measurements -- from a specified point to another specified point -- and images depicting the effect on axle angle (which impacts boot life).

Thanks for all the posts nonetheless.

Is it advisable to get new springs depending on high mileage? I'll probably have under 150k when i do mine this winter and just seeing if I should get new FJ springs or keep the stock coils.

Yep, my fronts were absolutely shot and the rears weren't far behind when I replaced mine around 120k. Well worth it while you're already in there IMO.

Hi All

Just wanted to share my experience for everyone.

Billstein 5100 on all four. Standard stock springs. Limited 4wd V8. LT265/65R-18 BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 E Tires.

Front shocks set at 1.75. No spacer in rear or front.

I have a v6. If i will do same settings as you did, will i have front higher than the rear due to less weight compared to v8? If anyone knows. Thanks
