Bilstein 5100 on sale?

the wife said that if you were local, she'd throw something at you. :rockthrow:

mild (and rare) offroad, lots of highway driving, and some local road surfing..

:rockthrow::rockthrow::rockthrow: We get that a lot!

The 6112 would be great for your needs, providing a few inches of front lift while improving the ride all-around.

Look at it this way, we are saving you money compared to some of the other kits we offer :smokin:

Lets be real, ICON S7 or go home.:biggrin1:

I'm new to all of this and I'm interested in improving my suspension with 5100's and coil-overs. So far I've added a SSS Slimline front bumper and Metaltech OPOR sliders. Eventually a rear bumper that will hold spare and two fuel cans, a winch, and the low possibility of a roof rack. I just got back from a trip to the top of Mount Antero last weekend hit the underside a few times on some rocks. I had my girlfriend, two dogs, gear, and a 65 qt pelican cooler. I'm noticing a little bit of sag on the front end already. I'm sure more so when I add the rear bumper and two Jerry cans.
TotalAutomotiveLV what would you recommend? Any specific coils with the 5100's to support the extra weight? I don't do any rock crawling or anything, but do go down some challenging unimproved roads. It's also my daily driver.

For reference of the type of driving I'll do.

^^
dang. I wish I had spots like that around me. :\

I think I'll follow Dagnabit's suggestion, stick to 5100s, any maybe springs.. just gotta wait for a group buy now. ;P

From San Antonio it was a 15-hour drive for me to get there. Worth every mile though! It's only a slightly longer drive from Streamwood, IL ;-)

Mt. Princeton Hot Springs is only about a 5-minute drive from the trail head. Nice cabins to stay in and hot springs to relax.

$338 shipped for a set on Amazon right now

If you find a lower price, feel free to send it our way and we will try to beat it. Amazon changes its price everyday and normally we are less, and a portion of every order goes back to support this forum when you purchase from us.

Amazon has zero customer service. We are here to help answer any questions you may have:wave:

sorry, that is not true. Amazon has a pretty fantastic customer service.

A lot of their products decrease in price due to demand/supply tracking. if the product isn't selling for X number of days, it drops in price, and keeps dropping until it is purchased, then price jumps back up to a certain degree. quite interesting.

That said, with Amazon tax... it will be a negligible difference

TotalAutomotiveLV Any input on my above post pertaining to what setup you recommend?

I'm definitely in the market for suspension improvement.

In terms of shipping and returns sure we totally agree with that, but they have zero connections with the manufacturers, cannot offer technical or install support, nor do they stock replacement parts. They provide zero advice on purchase, and cannot answer simple questions regarding the product.

Feel free to shop where you like, but OP was about to purchase Chevy shocks for his 4runner.... Why not purchase thru someone who will beat the price, while giving back to the forum on every purchase.

Do you install as well? Our next trip to Vegas is in December around Christmas.

We are looking for a shop to move into at this time. Hopefully we will have one by the end of the year!

If you go with the bumper, ICON's overland spring is probably your best bet. Will give 3" on an stock 4runner, and 2" at 200-400lbs of extra weight.

I'm all for supporting the small guys and the forum but I also have to say that's not true about amazons customer service. I have a prime account and must say that they have always gone above and beyond to correct any problems I have had.

He clarified in his post above mine...

they do offer install and technical support service.
They do carry replacement parts for a lot of items.. but usually just replace the whole thing.
And when a company is a retail giant of that magnitude it is impossible to provide an advise; this is just a numbers game.
Unlike most stores, they created an open forum to ask and answer questions which works very well.

as it was stated before, I am for supporting the small business, but your outright bashing a "competitor" is simply unprofessional.

I'm an Amazon Prime member and use it quite often, but I disagree with you.

They do have excellent customer service, but no technical support on something as specific as a suspension lift. You would never get an answer to a technical suspension question from Amazon. Any answer you got from their forum would be no different than an answer you get here; Amazon didn't provide the answer, some random user provided it.

And pointing out a "competitor's" legitimate flaws isn't bashing; it's good business practice. Amazon has a lot of benefits and is a good place to shop and purchase, but it does have flaws.

We are sorry you took it that way. We werent trying to bash anyone, just stating some of the differences between our business and theirs.

If anyone has any questions regarding a product, need some help selecting what kit will work best for you, need to know what setting is going to give you the lift you want, want to decide between two brands, want to check if something is compatible with another aftermarket part or just want to talk about offroading we can be reached at [email protected] or 702.979.1577:hippie:

Off-topic, but you have a beautiful Heeler there. Makes me miss mine. :sobbing:

Thanks! He's a royal pain in the ass but I love him to death. A great frisbee catcher too :D

He's a rescue and was abused before rescued. He's come a long way and has grown beyond many of the issues his abuse caused. He still needs a little work though.

Haha sounds about right. Mine was a stinker even into her old age. I'd run that dog all day and she'd still find ways to be a pain, even in her sleep. Loved every minute of it.

The great thing about dogs is they don't hold grudges, at least not for long. Keep at, you got a great pup there. :cheer2:
