I have a 2008 V6 4x4 that I picked up a few weeks ago. I am going to lift it and I would like to do it one step at a time. I like the idea of the OME lift and I like the idea of the 5100's. I have searched all over the lift threads but I haven't come across this scenario.
Here is what I am thinking of doing. Duration between each step will be 6-12 months.
1. Bilstein 5100's set at second or third step. Need help deciding, just to level the front out.
2. Rear OME shocks and coils. Set front Bilsteins to highest setting still on stock front coils.
3. Front OME coils with Bilsteins set back to stock setting. This should be the correct setting, right?
Has anyone done this before? Is it a good idea to mix the two brands? Should I wait and just do the complete OME at the same time?
not to resurrect/hijack an old thread but I have a couple questions I couldnt find the answer to after searching around.
Current setup is bilstein 5100s all around set to lowest setting with ome 2+ coils in front and daystar 1.5 spacers back with stock coils. Looking to add more.
1. I hear about the rough ride of the ome 895s with no weight. I do have a subwoofer box weighing around 80 lbs. will this affect ride height if I do the superflex over the ome? I don't want too stiff of a ride but I also don't want to sag even the slightest bit. I'm also keeping the 1.5 spacers on with the new coils to get ~3.5" in the rear
2. I will be adding 3/4" front spacers (possibly stack with a 1/4") to bring front around 3" to have a rake forward. (level now and I like a bit of a rake) should I change the bilsteins to the next setting (.85) or will that be too much?
oh one more.. do I need to extend rear brake lines when I do this?
thanks
