Bilstein 5100 with OME coils (slowly lifting)

Do I need to get a front end alignment after I install the 5100's?

Also, after hours of searching I still can't decide on the .85 setting or the 1.75. I know most go with the .85 but the difference looks very minimal unless they use FJ springs. I still can't find a picture of the 1.75 on stock springs. Any suggestions there?

I have a 2008 V6 4x4 that I picked up a few weeks ago. I am going to lift it and I would like to do it one step at a time. I like the idea of the OME lift and I like the idea of the 5100's. I have searched all over the lift threads but I haven't come across this scenario.

Here is what I am thinking of doing. Duration between each step will be 6-12 months.

1. Bilstein 5100's set at second or third step. Need help deciding, just to level the front out.
2. Rear OME shocks and coils. Set front Bilsteins to highest setting still on stock front coils.
3. Front OME coils with Bilsteins set back to stock setting. This should be the correct setting, right?

Has anyone done this before? Is it a good idea to mix the two brands? Should I wait and just do the complete OME at the same time?

I have the bilstein 5100 front struts and rear shocks with OME front and rear coils on my 03 sport. If u do them the same time id advise leaving the front struts on the factory setting. Unfortunately i hard the hard way and maxxed the strut plus a 2.5in spring and lets jus say it was a rele "bouncy" ride. So $500 in cv axles thinkin that was the problem which is wasnt and luckily my buddy works at a shop so he helpped me out and fixed it for me. So jus as a heads up if u do them the same time. Dont move the clip on the front struts.

Here is a pic of my OME 885 with 5100s set to lowest setting. Only difference in my setup is I went with Toytec Superflex coils to soften the often reviewed "stiff" ride of the OME rears.

I used the no spring compressor installation method and with the help of a long pry bar and additional set of hands installation was not too difficult.

not to resurrect/hijack an old thread but I have a couple questions I couldnt find the answer to after searching around.

Current setup is bilstein 5100s all around set to lowest setting with ome 2+ coils in front and daystar 1.5 spacers back with stock coils. Looking to add more.

1. I hear about the rough ride of the ome 895s with no weight. I do have a subwoofer box weighing around 80 lbs. will this affect ride height if I do the superflex over the ome? I don't want too stiff of a ride but I also don't want to sag even the slightest bit. I'm also keeping the 1.5 spacers on with the new coils to get ~3.5" in the rear

2. I will be adding 3/4" front spacers (possibly stack with a 1/4") to bring front around 3" to have a rake forward. (level now and I like a bit of a rake) should I change the bilsteins to the next setting (.85) or will that be too much?

oh one more.. do I need to extend rear brake lines when I do this?

thanks

I got just under 3.5" with OME 885's and a 1/2" spacer with billies on the lowest setting. You will sag a little if your sub box is really 80lbs with the superflex coils. I have them and when I'm loaded for a wheeling trip or camping I have quite a bit of sag.

I've got the Superflex's and I've got a couple hundred pounds between the subs and box and amp. Plus I've got my tool box and wheelin crap back there and I don't have any sag, but when I load up I sag like an old lady who hasn't worn a bra in the last thirty years.

thanks for the info guys. I'm leaning towards the OME at the moment but i've noticed toytec now has superflex HD - 25% stiffer than stock. anyone tried those?
