Bilstein 5100's Adjustment Perch Question

I have a 3rd gen with an ARB bumper up front, and plans on adding a winch at some point in the future (currently do not have a winch, though). I

n the back, I will be using LC 8-wraps and Bilstein 5100's, and in the front I will be using the adjustable Bilstein 5100's with the Tundra TRD coils. My question is should I set the front springs to the 2nd or 3rd perch? I've heard that most people go with the 2nd, but then if they add weight to the front, usually end up going to the 3rd. I'd prefer not to have to disassemble the struts a second time in order to re-adjust them.. you do have to disassemble the struts to adjust the perch up / down, right?

I'm currently running 265's, and am already worried about how high the back will sit! We will see, I guess. I just don't want a completely stupid amount of rake if I set it to the wrong perch.

If you have 8 wraps in back, and are adding a front bumper, go with the third (middle) perch. I have the 7.5 wraps in back, no aftermarket bumper, and have mine set on the second perch...it gives me about an inch of rake. You'd have more than that if you set them on the second.

Can't speak for the TRD tundra coils, but all your weight is currently present with the bumper ~75 extra lbs I doubt will significantly impact your rake at the front. I had to disassemble my front struts to move up one perch as I could not comfortably compress the coil with it installed. I know it's hard to predict lift heights but try to do some math first. I installed the rear lift and measured then did the front, this may help you as well. There are also top out spacers for the front, they also require the strut to be removed though.

Edit: I prefer the back to sit about an inch higher, so it levels out when loaded

I have mine on the third perch and with LC 7.5/8 wraps the rake was still ridiculous.

This was with a winch and plate/tube hybrid front bumper.

I have mine on the lowest setting with my plate bumper. Thinking I should move it a notch. Granted i dont have LC coils or need to worry about rake. Are you guys noticing a ride difference between settings?

From what I see and have. I vote 3rd setting. I think I read a few who went 4th and deaf adds to stiffness even w weight. I say 3rd setting max and run shorter rear coils.

I'm empty as stock gets and run 2nd clip from bottom with 890 rear coils and it's close to level slight up in rear.
