Bilstein 5160 on backorder....getting impatient...

I've called Bilstein 3 times to figure this out. I've been told a few more weeks, the end/beginning of the year or February.

Seems like these are unobtanium at the moment.

I'm pretty set on this setup, and it is really hard to keep waiting.
 
I already have my Bilstein 6112s for the front and just got an email from Total Automotive saying that Bilstein just told them the 5160s are back ordered until Mid-Feb 2016.

Is anyone running the 6112s on the front with the 5100s on the rear? Any other combos to run with 6112s or should I just be patient cause the 5160s are the best match and worth the wait?

Remember....

Some people get up in the morning and don't have arms or legs, will lose a loved one to cancer or accident, will get a terminal diagnosis...

I've got 5100s in the back and 6112s in the front. Works just fine for me (OEM coils, OEM ride height, no extra weight). It might not work as well as the 5160, but I'll never know the difference. I do know that I saved $250, got my shocks in 2 days, didn't have to mount an external reservoir, and didn't have to think about buying the $100+ worth of extra parts that some members have chosen to add to the 5160 (billet brackets and end caps for the top of the reservoir).

I have been running 5160s for a few years. With so many good options out there I wouldn't wait months on them.
 
Yahoo, I found the unicorn. After calling all the major shock providers in the US, I located a pair of Bilstein 5160s from Autoplicity. They still have 7 pairs left if anyone is interested. I ordered on Wednesday and they should arrive tomorrow according to the tracking number.

The price has gone up $20 since I ordered last week but it is still better than waiting until February 2016. Look for a discount code for reduced shipping.

Good find. The picture is a mis-representation, but the part number is correct. What are you paying out the door? My deal through TAP included the billet reservoir clamp 5160/6112 at a pretty good price.

I will PM the price to you, which will be for the 5160s + clamp + shipping. I called TAP first, but they have nothing until Feb 16.

Man on man. Bilstein loves to toy with us. We have the 6112 good in stock, and we just took delivery of 4 pairs of 5160s randomly from bilstein. First come first serve on the rears! Price has not changed.

It says backordered on the site, but as of 12/3 4:15PM PST, we have 4 pairs. Use code T4R for discount
