Bilstein TRD Pro suspension kit on sale PTR13-35140

From what I have read on the forum the FJ kit works very well, with small modifications sometimes needed to fit. If I were to rip out my Xreas system and install this kit what modifications, if any, will I need to make for it to work properly?

I just did this on my Limited. No mods necessary. Complete bolt on kit. People have mentioned possible driver's side lean anywhere from 0.25"-1" lower than passenger side.

How does it drive? Given the 800lbs difference between the vehicles, I could imagine a large difference in the vaving of the shocks. Do you notice anything weird such as soggy suspension or blowing through the travel over large hits?

We need someone with a 4Runner TRD Pro setup to measure their lower shock eye to spring perch dimension. The FJ kit is 8.0" bolt center to perch, I suspect the 4Runner shock spacing is larger, resulting in a shorter spring.

Yea, I agree. That's really the only viable explanation in that the 4Runner Bilstein Pro setup has a higher perch to accommodate the same 1" lift over stock using a 1" shorter coil.

I have a feeling you are absolutely correct concerning different perch location.
I happen to have a friend’s TRD Pro Tacoma kit PTR13-39150 (same 6112/5160) sitting in my garage....was able to measure center lower shock eye to perch......9 7/8”. I believe the Tacoma kit coils are 600lb 14”. This Tacoma kit is assembled with top hats and the pre-loaded mounted coils measured 11 7/8”. Seems like a lot more pre-load on these Tacoma coils compared to the FJ kit coils. Also, I wonder if there is a lot of difference between the extended shock length of the Tacoma vs FJ vs T4R Pro kits. Look at this link as well. Some of the Tacoma kits were mistakenly shipped with T4r Pro coils mounted which are shorter coils....see link below post #2652 and read on.

This makes me think that the Tacoma Pro kit and T4r Pro kit 6112s might have similar perch locations...and this FJ kit 6112 perch location is lower (less pre-load) compared to the other two.

*Definitely need a T4r Pro 6112 perch measurement.

Sorry it took an extra day to get the measurement. Was super busy with work, even though this took me all of 5 minutes.

Well it definitely firms up the ride, which I thoroughly appreciate. Eliminates the braking nose dive substantially and less body roll. I live in Los Angeles where our roads are maintained every century (exaggeration...) and I found it better at absorbing the bumps and potholes. Just FYI I kept the OEM rear springs as well. Lastly, the only substantial thing I noticed was the lean after a full tank, which I measured to be ~0.75".

Annnnnnnnd there we have it, folks. Shoutout to [MENTION=165740]Kamalani Mahie[/MENTION] for confirming. TRD Bilstein FJ shock spring perch sits 1" lower than the 4Runner version. Does anyone think this will have an appreciable difference when it comes to performance?

2014 SR5 Rears installed

Just installed the rears today on my 2014 SR5 and bolted right up no issues with mounting the reservoirs took about 1 hr, a little PITA that top bolt off and on, will put on the fronts this weekend, but with the rears it made a huge difference firming up the ride and way less body roll

With that installed, can I put both front clips at the same height and get a level truck???

I was quoted 640 by an off road shop to install these with new uca.

I just called a local place near me and they said it would take over 15 hours and was quoted over $2,000 to install the suspension. I told them they were out of their minds.

Anyone know a reputable mechanic in the Boston area that may be able to do this a bit cheaper? I know a guy in Woburn, but he is so popular he usually is booked for months at a time. I will ask him, but would like this installed sooner if possible.
