Bilstein TRD Pro suspension kit on sale PTR13-35140

I just read through all 34 pages.. Going to make a few calls in the morning to see if Olathe or other dealership can still get these at a decent price. I will have to swipe a FJ vin in the process.

Only looking for a 1-2 inch lift and level so this works out nicely. Current rolled over 65k on the 2012 SR5 so may not be aa bad time to pick up some replacement parts.

Its my DD-- and only sees minor off-roading, mostly logging trails with the occassional difficult route.

Thanks everyone who has contributed to this thread.

After reading through this thread, is it safe to say that swapping TRDP 4Runner specific front springs nets a 1inch less lift that advertised due to the perch/spring combo of the FJ kit?

I’m a little reluctant to go with springs due to this reason and currently looking at spacers in front/rear...

I just called a local place near me and they said it would take over 15 hours and was quoted over $2,000 to install the suspension. I told them they were out of their minds.

Anyone know a reputable mechanic in the Boston area that may be able to do this a bit cheaper? I know a guy in Woburn, but he is so popular he usually is booked for months at a time. I will ask him, but would like this installed sooner if possible.

My brother in law is a mechanic and said it's basically a shock upgrade. He said the book time on shocks is 4.5 hours. So whatever the hourly rate is plus an alignment is a fair price. My local off road shop quoted me at 575 with alignment.

So it's supposed to be a upgrade for a FJ trail. I simply went to a website for selling automobiles and filtered for that model. The funny part is after insisting it was for an FJ, I drove to the Olathe dealer and had them load it in the back of my 4runner

Just thought that I would reply to this post since my results seems to be a little different than others. I ended up with 1 1/2" lift in front (was 2" after install but has settled to 1 1/2 ) The only difference that I could come up with is that I used Dobinsons top strut mount, but after talking with Mike (great guy to deal with) he feels that their top mounts should not have made a difference. I now have 1/2" higher in the RR and 3/4" higher in the LR vs fronts and the RF and LF are the same. Everything else is stock, no new control arms. Glad I didn't add a spacer to the LR. Alignment is good with 3 on the caster. Also this week added Nitto RG in 265/70/17 C rated.
Can't say enough good things about this new setup. The ride is great now. Thanks to the OP and all who have shared to this post.
Additional info:
suspension - took me 6 hrs. to install by myself (and I am an old man over 60) nothing hard (especially if you have read through all of these posts) just the front coils are heavy trying to get into place and lined up if working by yourself. Main thing is reduced amount of nose dive.
Tires - These things are quiet but heavy (55 lbs). I did a before and after DB check using a DB app on my phone and it confirmed my impression...these were quieter than my Dunlops (30K on those tires). Only by a couple of DBs but I am very pleased. Don't know about gas mileage drop at this point, but I don't care. Hope to get out in the sand this weekend to give them a test on the beach.
I have a 2015 Trail non KDSS with 30K miles on it.

called another 4x4 shop and was quoted a far more reasonable $500 without an alignment and $700 with. Just waiting for parts and will book soon.

Another questions for the group. Since my 4runner is new, will installing the FJ suspension void the warranty on the car? I had an oh sh*t moment last night. Maybe I am being paranoid, but I just thought I'd ask.

Quick online search... Sold out

Haven't had a chance to call this am. Wrapped up in meetings. But a quick online search via a link provided earlier in the thread turns up empty at Olathe. Assuming that's the case with all as they were ordering them in from a Toyota warehouse?

Annnnnnnnd there we have it, folks. Shoutout to Kamalani Mahie for confirming. TRD Bilstein FJ shock spring perch sits 1" lower than the 4Runner version. Does anyone think this will have an appreciable difference when it comes to performance?

4Rocker - FYI

I've been following this thread for a while now and im still not sure if these give the same amount of lift as the TRD Pro Bilstein. The perch on the FJ is lower but the springs are taller?

Same lift as TRD PRO 4R setup. Yes, you're correct. The perch on the shocks in this kit sit 1" lower but they come with a 14" spring instead of the 13" spring that the TRD PRO 4R setup has from the factory. Lift is equal.

**JUST KNOW THAT YOU WILL NOT GET AN ADDITIONAL 1" OF LIFT IF YOU REPLACE THE FRONT COILS IN THIS KIT WITH THE 1" TRD PRO LIFT COILS FROM DOBINSONS, KINGS, ETC. AS THEY ARE ALL 3"ID X 14" **

Had my kit installed a week ago. I also added the Toytec TRD Pro lift kit and Dobinsons C59-505 rear lift springs. Ended up gaining 3.25” - 3.5” in front and 2.5” rear. The reason my front changed so much was partly because the stock springs sagged about an inch due to the added SS winch bumper. $300 for install at the Truck Shop in San Diego. Waiting a bit for the springs to settle before deciding to get UCAs. Camber was a little out of spec at 2.2.

They have them available at my local dealership (stevinson toyota east) for $630+tax.

Anyone use Toyotapartsdeal.com?
Yes, ordered last Friday and got them Tuesday. Smooth transaction. Fast shipping. I used Paypal FWIW.

My front passenger shock on my 2015 TRD PRO is damaged and thinking it might be a good idea to pick this up for spare parts since it is discontinued. Read most of the posts, but is the suspension on newer TRD PRO's different/better?

I mean, no one really knows yet. The suspension stayed the same through the 2018 model year, IIRC. Only the 2019's have switched over to the FOX Suspension.
