Needed new meats! KM2s decided to start falling apart but BFG paid for a large portion of my new tires. Went with MTRs this time in 305/70/17. Yes, you need to modify the rig to get this size tire to not rub...

Do you have any pictures of what you trimmed in the front and rear to fit these tires (or when you had 285/75R17 for that matter)? I'm planning on doing the BMC but haven't found too many other pics of what and where specifically to cut. I'm installing an OME lift (887 front, 898 rear) w/ Camburg ball joint style UCAs in the near future. Getting CBI front and rear bumpers installed this week. I am thinking of running the Toyo Open Country AT II in 285/75R17.

I don't think I do but I'll try and get you some pics later. Basically most to the plastic is gone, part of the inside fender flair, some of the fender mounting bracket... I need to hammer back the pinch weld a bit more. It's worth it though!

On the front, it's pretty much the body mount chop and the washer bottle needs to be relocated if you still have it. I also trimmed back and re-welded the rocker brackets. Seems like an aftermarket bumper is almost required (or massive cutting in the front section like I did)http://www.toyota-4runner.org/5th-gen-t4rs/198378-bumper-expriment.html

For the rear, I did not have to do anything since I already had bump stop extensions for the long travel. No rubbing there for me.

Much of this will depend on the wheel size... I think I have the same wheels as bumrunner. 17x8 -10

But then you get some BA fenders and make us all drool. It's a never ending journey, but it's fun getting there!

Pretty close to what [MENTION=106176]wfo9[/MENTION] said. I still need to trim out the plastic along the pinch weld and take the BFH to it to get rid of every last rub. Front bumper makes pushing castor max easy. The rub I still have is really at full lock stuffed and minor.

I've actually only had my truck out hard core offroading once since the new tires have been on... I had some very minor rub on the plastic liner on the drivers side, about where bimrunner cut the plastic. I have since cut the part that rubbed off (but i have most of it still intact). Mine is cut at a perpendicular line with the bottom fender flare screw.

I also got some TC uniball UCAs (which I have not installed yet due to a shoulder injury...) I was hoping those would let me get the wheels a bit more forward.

OP, how is that front bumper working out for you? Who makes it?

Edit: nevermind on who makes it...i saw your signature. I am interested in hearing how it has performed (durability, winch access, protection, ect.).

I've never had any issues with it whatsoever. Absolute best approach angles that you are going to get, winch access is perfect and protection has been exactly what I would expect from this bumper. In other words, performance has been excellent for me.

The runner stayed home to rest while the old 80 and I went on an adventure on the Dusy Ershim trail. It's my new favorite trail. 33 miles of beauty, hard core rock crawling and some of the tightest squeezes you can imagine. Multiple times with millimeters on both sides for clearance. A miracle I got the tent through without damage.
