How much did that bumper run you? Im really digging it.
If im going to do the bed liner, i would either go that tan or a olive drab green with black accents!!!

My moms '02 dodge truck has a nice bedliner. It was applied evenly (not too thick) with a non slip "almost rubbery but not soft" feel with minimal texture and a nice matte black color w/o much fade. I have always thought it would look good as a paint job and I've been wanting to do this since I got my '98 T4r 2 months ago. I been researching and its hard to get a straight opinion about the different mfr (rhino, linex, reflex etc etc) regarding how each would look as a 4runner total body application. I assume they're all tougher than paint but what is the best? Anyway thanks to you're post I will be biting the bullet as well....thanks.

Monstaliner really has no rough surfaces that's why I liked it over rhino since others use rubber pieces to make texture where monstaline its texture is made out of the application no add ons , so it's basically smooth

I didn't have any rust but they also sell chassis saver which you can get free with a coupon and you just use that as a primer

After a few months it has held up great! I am still in love with this stuff and am even thinking of doing my jet ski in it! What I would have done differently would be to have done it sooner. Haha but seriously I wish I would have not scratched the black as soon as it got painted. I accidentally had it scratch a little right after I painted it because it wasn't completely cured yet. But overall I still love this stuff

I saw a Jeep Unlimited a few weeks ago that was linex'd....looked amazing and hard as a rock! If I were to do mine...thats what I would have done!

I'm thinking I may want to do this...only reason being I have a matte fender and hood...I can't see myself dropping $800+ to have a cheap maaco paint job. While it is our daily driver, we take it out at least once a month, sometimes more, for trail driving...the wife MAY kill me but we'll see.

May I ask about how much was total cost? Monstaliner site not really clear about what else is needed for exterior spray on application (MEK,spray gun,etc). How black is black? (If I add a black tint will it darken?) I'm hoping to achieve a dark matte black finish all over or maybe with DARK grey for trim???

Around $550 if I remember correctly, I bought 3 total gallons and could have used way lees. I bought 2 gallons of desert sand and had about a half gallon left, I also bought 1 gallon of black and had about a half gallon left. So I have bought less but I didn't want to run out when I was halfway through, you also need MEK which I bought 2 pints and I bought the spray gun off of their site and I also needed tape which I used blue painters tape. Black is black I can add photos later if you want, the best part of black with this stuff is you don't need the to table version because that's their original color so it is cheaper since you don't need to add "monster shades" I'll post pictures later of the black for you. Let me know if you got anymore questions

wow man, i thought this was gonna be a dumb idea and you were gonna ruin you rig, but you did it right and it turned out good, im really impresed. that being said, im not doing this to my runner, but i might to it to my white 94 runner that im building, idk we will see.

I've seen a few before so I knew it would look alright as ext application and I've been looking at doing this for a while now but didn't know where to start or if diy was doable. Anyway thanks to foxrider for w/o this info I probably would have paid a shop more money to spray on an inferior product. So once you apply the last coat of monsta that's it or is there a top/clear coat? I am going for matte but I read somewhere that you can achieve semi-gloss finish because there is no rubber filler?
