Black 04 sport...is zainos the way to go?

It's finally warm enough for me to detail this thing for the first time. It really needs a good wax/polish. I was going to order some zainos last year because I liked what I saw in pictures, but I don't seem to see a lot of comments on it anymore. Is it really as big a pain as some people say? I do have a garage I can let it sit in while it dries so that's not a problem.

I'll probably order some tomorrow so any comments would be appreciated. I just saw a post on Klasse products but haven't looked that much into them yet.

It really needs a good wax/polish.

Remember that unlike the cleaner-waxes you buy at the variety store, Zaino's and much of the other "high end" stuff is just a wax/sealant. If you need to polish you will need to do this in a separate step.

I don't know where it is that you are seeing a lack of comments. It is widely used by the people who frequent autopia.org

I like it because it is so very easy to use. I find that it is ready for removal very soon after application but I live in So Calif. where the humidity is not high. In high humdity locales it can take longer to cure though the latest Z-2 formulation is supposed to improve curing times in high humidity. Remeber that it should be applied very thin - 1 ounce or less for an entire 4Runner.

Except for the curing times in humidity the other complaint has been from people who seem to be inable to follow simple instructions - having to add 4 drops of ZFX to the Z-2 in the application vial is just too impossibly complicated for them.

It isn't cheap. You will want Z-2, ZFX and Z-8 plus applicator pads - about $60.

I recently ordered and used the Menzerna products from here www.properautocare.com/index.html. I have the Galactic Gray and thought it did an incredible job. I also used it on a '01 VW Cabrio that had some imperfections (dings, paint marks) and swirls. It virtually removed the swirls. It is a little expensive, but worth it I think.
