I don't think there are any projector lights out there for '03-05 4runners except the halo ones and custom projector retrofits.
The '06 lights will fit but require the trim pieces below to replaced with 06-up pieces (~$28/ea on toyotapartszone.com) and their will be a small triangle on each side where the grille doesn't line up with the trim and lamp. It will require an H11 bulbs & socket or an H11 HID kit, which usually plugs in, upside down, to the '03 9006 sockets.
If you search there are write-ups with more info.

People will say different things, but in my experience I was getting flashed with the HID kit in the reflector housings. I tried lowering the beam but then light was becoming less useful so I switched to the '06 projector housings.
You can bake the OEM housings and open them up and paint black then reseal pretty easily instead of paying $100+ for new already black housings. There are several write-ups on the forum for that as well. I personally have done it four times now, three times to '03 housings and once to '06 housings.
