Black trim is now gray. How to restore to black?

Anyone have any solution to restoring the original color of fading black trim? One that doesn't include "remove/replace the item" or "petroleum distillates" ?

The running boards, mud flaps, and the black strip on top of the rear bumper of my 05 are already fading to an ugly gray color after only 1 year of use.

Try Mother's Back to Black. I can't say if it has petroleum distillates but it has very good reviews, and generally Mother's makes good products.
