rubbing alcohol might work since the areas with more paint havent cured yet. I would try alcohol first then if that doesnt work try something a little stronger

Put some on a rag and hold it over the adhesive. It will soften to where you can easily remove it.
You can buy the charcoal lighter fluid anywhere they have grills although the Zippo brand lighter fluid is really pure and works good. It is way more expensive though. Sometimes they have those Zippo lighter kiosks in malls, that might be quick for you.david_ray320 said:Interesting, wouldn't have thought of that. Thanks for the tip. I was trying Goo Gone but it really wasn't doing much. I'll give lighter fluid a try. So you just hold the rag over the adhesive and get it soaked in on the old glue and then scrape it off? I bought a plastic putty knife like you would use for drywalling and used that to underneath the emblems when I was removing them. Hopefully that will work to scrape off the adhesive once I soften it up.
(Here's a dumb question- where can you buy lighter fluid?)

The adhesive will get so soft from the rag soaking it you can use your fingernail. The residue will actually dissolve into the lighter fluid so you may not have to really "scrape" at all. Just wipe it up. It worked good for my badges. I messed around with everything before I finally found out about this. Nothing else worked.

Mine are holding up fine now with 3 coats of clear. But if they do end up chippin I'll just take them off and do them again!
