Blcktpgsr's '97 transformation

How's the truck ride when you're doing 65mph (or whatever that is in kilometers) on the highway?

At speeds hovering in the 65+MPH mark, the truck rides steady and smooth..Reading a few horrid stories about highway speed vibrations got me curious as to whether or not my truck would exhibit the same problem..I'm just glad it's not something I need to be concerned with on my ride. yippee!

Inspiring build. You really out did yourself and didn't cut any corners, always pays off in the end as we can tell. The stance is perfect! Not too much rake, just right. The rail road pic is sweet dude. (They all are)

That is the bridge linking the highway to the trail, below about 50ft is gushing rapids. yeah I like how the truck ended up stance wise..positive rake does suggest any truck an aggresive and updated look. Some like it some don't.

so I finally installed a 1" BL to finally take care of the minor rubbing issues when wheeling..took me about 4hrs start to finish. And while at it, I had my spare painted bumper blacked out..as well as my chrome grill. I like the way it looks and also how it handles off road..
alternative to using hi-lift jack..hey it worked!

Thanks!!!

We are heading up Eagle Ridge this Saturday. Wanna tag along? It'd be nice to check your truck up close.

Thanks for the invite..I've always wanted to check out Eagle Ridge, but Ive already got my plans laid for the weekend..I'd be delighted to show my rig and check out all the others too.

Hey Bro,

As some of you may know, I've purchased one of the last two D-ring mounts from LeGokcen, bought them bare and I just painted 'em rust paint black, bought 3/4 anchor shackles along with a matching receiver hitch D-ring and a lockable pin from a 4x4 shop. Also an ARB snatch strap came to mind.

Few pics from a recent wheeling with a friend in his 06 Tacoma. Fortunately neither of us had to ever use the snatch strap as there were a few deep trail ruts as well as soft sands, grueling rock trails and everything in between. My truck suffered from alot of scratches but I managed to get 'em all off..well except some!

That was in Squamish..some random trail about 80kms from North Van. I might put off wheeling 'til next year and just wait for the big snow predicted to come down hard on us this winter.

do you photoshop ur rig when you take a picture to be black and white? or is it like that? i see no color on ur rig and was j/w. for a black truck..it looks really clean and shiney

No there's no photoshopping, picture editing or special camera setting on all of my shots..just the way they come out. The paint condition of this 13 yr old truck is really amazing, guess the previous owner really took care of it...I plan to do the same except for some of the deeper scratches I recently inflicted on the sides while wheeling....No biggie! but thanks.

The truck wouldn't be complete without the tires so after much debate I opted with BFG M/T km2 285 70 17's

Mounted on the rims and on the rig

I have a set of PIAA 520's sitting in the closet(another freebie from my brother) ones that I've always wanted to mount on my bumper but having the 01-02 grill presented a set back as it sticks further out compared to my stock 97 ones, let alone the fact that 97's have short bumper...there was nowhere to mount the lights onto..So I resorted back to using the original 97 grill..While I'm at it I thought of doin' the Satoshi mod thinking It'll give me more room so the lights don't stick out...so I did...

I went the extra mile and modify my chrome grill to better flush fit the lights, fab up a bracket in front of the rad to hold the lights secure.

Lastly, I ordered the TRD sticker and slapped 'em on, cleaned and painted the wheel wells, frame, rear axle and undercarriage with flat Rustoleum black rust paint...now it looks like it just rolled off the production line...well sort of.
